The sensational O'Neal "Baba" Burton began singing at the age of 5 in the Burton Five Church Group in Clarendon, Jamaica. As time passed, O'Neal moved to Kingston, singing with various groups and performing in local clubs--slowly but surely making a name for himself in the local reggae scene. In 1992, Baba moved to Miami to join the reggae band Shock Wave. The fresh, young artist soon became lead singer of Garvey Uprising, giving him the training and exposure necessary to grow in the industry. In 1999, Baba toured with Kymani Marley and traveled throughout Western Europe on The Journey Tour. Later, fate would introduce Baba to Zemroy Lewis, leader of the Code Red Reggae Band, and Baba quickly joined the band as lead vocalist. Captivating South Florida with his astonishing style and mesmerizing stage presence, Baba connects to his audience not only for his extraordinary vocal range, but also because of the soulful truth he brings to each and every song. Crowds especially love the covers of songs from artists such as Barris Hammond and Bob Marley. Baba considers his musical inspirations to be Gregory Isaacs, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, and Teddy Pendergrass. ONeals mantra is also the title of his soon to be released first album, Never Give Up, produced by Zimma Entertainment, Inc. Now prepare yourself to hear the stirring sounds of Baba ONeal.
