This might be my family coat-of-arms.Luther Seal My family tradition is Lutheran. I like it there. But, I have always questioned that faith, and probably always will. I am intrigued by the principles of many other "faiths": Wiccan/Pagan, Zen Buddhist, Secular Humanism, but must admit to a limited knowledge of those beliefs and rituals/practices. I am certainly embarrassed at some of the history of most organized religions, including Christianity. On the other hand, organized religion is run by people, and doesn't necessarily reflect the "true" religion. The early Christians were not uniform in their beliefs or practices, and some factions that faded away may very well have been closer to the truth than the ones that survived ... or not, I don't know. The books of the Bible may be the inspired Word of God, but which books would be canonical (included) were selected by an imperial committee that had their own agenda. Most people realize by now that Christian festivals plagiarized festivals of other beliefs. Deliberately? Again, I don't know. The one thing about any religion that I fear the most is the true believer that thinks they KNOW the TRUTH. This is one reason that despite my doubts and questions, I stick with the Lutheran tradition. Luther questioned the practices of his church, searched scripture and his heart for the truth, and concluded (this is my take on it) that everyone needed to come to their own conclusion. Yes, he had some basic Christian tenets that Lutherans subscribe to, but he wanted everyone to have access to the scriptures themselves and not have the interpretation handed down. Hence, his efforts at translating the Bible into German.Hey, at least I'm trying ...At least one branch of the Stenzel ancestry has been traced to the Uecker-Randow District in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state of the German Federal Republic, right on the border with Poland.Several generations are likely to have attended this Evangelist (branch of Lutheran) church, built around 1704 and destroyed by lightening in 1822.

My Interests

Music. Fast luxury cars. Investing. PC RPGs. Soccer.

Finding new bands:

playing car soccer

Television:

Painkiller Jane, Supernatural, Law&Order, Dead Like Me, The Wonder Years (I was in Junior High in 1969, same as Kevin Arnold)

Angela and me

I was just reading a bit about Angela Merkel, the chancellor of Germany. This woman is pretty cool in my opinion, and there are one or two coincidences. From the wikipedia page about Dr. Me...
