I started making music back in 1998. I was exposed to music at a young age by a father who owned a recording studio and was in a band. But I never realized how much I enjoyed music until my senior year of highschool. I started playing around on the piano at school during the one and only play I participated in during highschool (Westside Story). As Ironic as it was I spent a lot of my childhood with a piano in the basement but by the time I finally started trying to play I hadn't seen my father or a piano in more than 7 years.So I just snuck whatever time I could to play the piano at school secretly. Sometimes people would hear me but usually I would stop playing if I believed anyone was even in earshot. I learned very quickly and impressed many as I taught myself piano. The only strange thing about that is my lack of understanding of musical notation. It was easy to play and it's fairly easy to teach myself new instruments but I still don't quite get musical notation. Yeah I can read the notes but it just doesn't really do me much good.I think too much I guess. Don't worry I'm the same way with math and english and everything else. I'm a person who finds it much easier to do then to understand the rules that don't make sense. Most rules are just percieved anyway. Then I found out I could make music using a computer around 2001 and I have never looked back. The computers got faster the music got better my studio grew in capability and now I'm just about satisfied in every way with my setup.
My musical influences are very diverse. I love new age and classical, rock, 80's, hip hop, r & b, I even enjoy a lot of country. My ultimate goal I would like to achieve with my music would be to mix classical, hip hop, with funk. I like hip hop but just wish it could be a little more diverse and have more replay value. Most of the rap and hip hop I hear gets tired within a minute. They are great beats just too repetitive. Classical is great but sometimes a lot of sometimes it's a little too slow. There isn't enough beat. That's why so many are bored with it. I want to mix them. Classical with a beat. Hip Hop with some class. Well that's about all I'm going to say for now.
