Don Turbo, born Patrick Cooper, is a roots and culture reggae DJ. His lyrics are smooth, hard-hitting, and are often reminiscent of daily life. Don Turbo is currently working on his debut album and recording a number of singles.
Don Turbo decided that he wanted to become a reggae artiste from a very early age, spurred on by his parents and teachers; he started to foster his talents by performing on local talent shows. After he finished high school he went to Junior Reid studio where he recorded a number of unreleased tracks. Don Turbo decided that he wanted to be the ruler of his own destiny, thus he started to produce himself. His first self-production was Live Heroes, the single was released to rave reviews and steady radio plays on Irie FM, especially on the G.T Taylor show.
Don Turbo continued to produce himself and perform on a number of local popular shows and festivals. He joined the Amazon-Bluenile when he went to Amazon to transfer his self-production from DATs to CD. Woodhouse really like what he heard on the tapes and immediately offer Don Turbo a recording deal. Since joining the Amazon-Bluenile label he recorded to singles; Bloody City and What a ting.
