You tell me. I shouldn't be so presumptuous as to tell you who you should be.
Q: What qualities do you admire in a person?
Morrissey: It would be easy to say such things as honesty or loyalty, and so on – but the fact is that if you like someone you'll forgive them of almost any kind of indiscretion.
...isn't that right, flute-playing cactus chef?
In general, i like my music to either sound like an oil painting underwater or like two angry robots having sex. throw in a guitar riff that sounds like a horse on fire falling off a cliff and you have a deal.
Practically all of my favourite bands are dead. Thankfully the like of Garbage, Placebo, and Morrissey are still around.
Recent interests: The new B-52's CD, Rasputina, Bird & the Bee, The Teenagers, Leslie and the Ly's, Amanda Ghost, Klaxons.
Music begins and ends with Siouxsie And The Banshees. This cannot be stressed enough, and the sooner you understand this the better. Go out now and purchase Tinderbox. Your world will surely never be the same, if you're into songs about sex, death and madness.
the Cocteau Twins. Liz Fraser took vocals into new territory, usually singing in an unintelligible warble and abandoning the known languages altogether for a couple of years in the late 80's.
Curve. Toni Halliday + Dean Garcia = bliss. The band that made me want to make music. No one can come close to their mix of icy vocals, processed beats, and fuzzy guitars...not to mention Dean's bass! They are, unfortunately, no longer with us.
The Coachella Valley Festival in Palm Springs is my christmas.
opposite of sex (and happy endings), go, x-men 2, dolores claiborne, faster pussycat kill kill, headwig (and shortbus), v for vendetta, M (and other arty foreign flicks that'll make me sound more interesting), mullholland drive. and on and on and on.
Arrested Development, The Office (US), Freaks and Geeks, Justice League Unlimited, Futurama, Colbert Report, Real Time, Subterranean. I don't actually watch all that much TV. I've never seen Desperate Housewives or Buffy. But if we're to become friends, I feel I must confess I was an avid fan of Dawson's Creek.
There. I said it.
Dorothy Parker is one of my favourite poets:
from "Bric-a-brac" by d.p. (1928)
Lonely folk have lines of days
Long and faltering and thin;
Therefore -- little wax bouquets,
Prayers cut upon a pin,
Little maps of pinkish lands,
Little charts of curly seas,
Little plats of linen strands,
Little verses, such as these.
Fall-down funniest book- Screening Party by dennis hensly. no other book has made me crumple on the floor in laughter. Close runner up, being more witty than hysterical, is Blue Heaven by joe Keenan.Preacher by Garth Ennis, The Sandman by Gaiman and lots of other comics are to be reccomended. Hell, just take all of 90's Vertigo Comics while you're at it.
Kyle Rayner, Bill Maher. Neil Gaiman. Stephen Colbert. This is to say, no one I actually know.
