Christopher Robinson is an independent acoustic/experimental/pop artist from the small redneck town of Melissa, Texas. The town is so small that the local hangout just might be a gas station. Unlike his country surroundings though, he doesn’t write songs about his wife beating him or milking cows for fun. Instead, he strives to write songs that are unique in sound and have personal meaning, but still can capture a widespread audience.
Christopher Robinson was born in Austin, Texas but has lived in Tennessee, Colorado and New Jersey. When he was eight years old he was introduced to the music of The Beatles and this is where his musical journey began. Getting his first guitar at the age of thirteen he spent countless hours in his room practicing, but it wasn’t until his later high-school years where he developed his love for writing songs. He started his first band when he was eighteen called April Overcast, which was an experimental/instrumental group out of Frisco, Texas. For being an instrumental rock band they got more accomplished than they ever dreamed. They played countless shows in Dallas and even shared the stage with acts such as Sherwood, Daphne Loves Derby, This Providence and The Kidcrash. When April Overcast disbanded in late August of 2006 Christopher Robinson then began to work on his first studio recorded release, “Beginning to Feel Like I am the Only One Realâ€.
