About Me

I was born in Lincolnshire on the North East Coast of England and grew up on a diet of funk, folk, rock and northern soul and started singing at school because in my first band no one else wanted to. I'll never forget our first gig. It was a sellout at the Town hall and just about every kid from 2 different schools turned out to lose themselves and go crazy for 'Molotov Cocktail'. All the necessary rock band criteria were filled that night: JD's & Marlboro as we played, stage diving & crowd surfing during the show, snogging girls from the audience, smashing a guitar to pieces, and blowing up an amp in the finale! It was a monster gig and a night I'll never forget. As I grew older I grew more interested in playing bass and guitar and gigged a lot up and down the country with some quite different bands, also learning the benefits of staying a bit more sober until after the performance. After college I moved to London to soak up some city vibes with a couple of musician mates and stayed there for about 7/8 years playing firstly with a dark funk outfit on guitar and bass (what has now become 'The Huskies') and more recently with a folky rock band called 'Earl' (now 'The Giles Gooden Band')on bass and backing vocals. All the while developing my personal songwriting skills in my spare time and developing a slight taste for piano too. While in London I also studied Film and enjoy making shorts and makeshift music vidz when I can. I've now lived in Denmark for a while and continue to follow whatever creative urges grab me.
