Big Daddy Kai

Big Daddy Kai (aka BDK aka Big aka Tha' BDK) is essentially an entertainer, not being particularly good at one thing, (except maybe DJing) he vents his frustration by being fairly good at everything and then inflicts the results on anyone who'll listen/watch. He is a father, an actor, a drummer, a DJ, a writer, a producer, a rapper and more recently a singer. Sometimes he is all of these things at the same time. One thing he does understand is the power of beats and the strength of words. Whether he successfully combines the two.....you decide, he doesn't know. The stuff on this site is the result of twiddlings from the recent past, Big having decided to dedicate the present and future to his current great love, The Future Shape of Sound with whom (along with others) he provides a vocal frontage, some writing, a bit of arranging, stuff like that. Big knows which side his bread is buttered and so put his solo career on the back burner in order to work with the greatest live band in London (possibly the world) today. As for the tunes on this site, they are old school, coz Big is an old guy, he was around when Hip Hop started and remembers when it was about fun and parties and social conscience, not bitches, guns, dope and gettin' paid.
