I was born with a drumstick in my hand! And Mama said it hurt like hell. Seriously, I got my first drum set when I was 8 years old. I am 45 now, so you do the math! I received some professional drum instruction from Ron Jonson at Hart County High School, but, believe it or not, my best teacher was my good friend Freddie Pinkston, a big, lovable, black fellow who showed me the meaning of "soul". For the last year I have been drumming for Carla Le Fever and the Rays, out of Athens, GA. We perform "slap in your face" rock'n'roll originals with a soft touch here and there. I'm excited to say that we started this year off with a blast, opening for Mother's Finest (one of my all-time favorite bands),on New Year's Eve at the Melting Point in Athens. Before hooking up with Carla and the Guys I played for a group called Idle Minds, performing from Georgia to Maryland. Some of our coolest gigs included opening for Fuel in Maryland, and opening for Velvet Revolver in Gwinnett. Before joining Idle Minds I performed country music with John Schneider on the Dukes of Hazzard Reunion Tour, and funk, blues, and jazz with the Fabulous Reflections. This brings us to my first band, "The Substutitutes", who were finalists in "Georgia's Best Talent Search", sponsored by the Atlanta Songwriter's Association.
I have taken breaks over the years while raising my two sons, Kaleb and Noah, from my first marriage. I am now remarried, but my whole family seems to have music in its blood, so I have returned to serious drumming.I am the session drummer for farmhouse studios.check out my kick ass band ellis dee:).
