We move, we dance, we set fire to the spirit... and we teach others how to do the same.
Samba!
Salsa!
Calypso!
Reggae!
Afro-Caribbean!
Belly Dancing!
...just to name a few. If you like these dances, you will love Congolese, the root of them all. Ah, "root". A good word. Congolese dance connects us with the "root" of our bodies, the strong, powerful, erotic, fiery inner core that lies just below the abdomen.
More than building strength, Congolese dance uses the body's healing vibrations -- through pelvic rotation, high energy movements, and live drumming pulsing through your system like a heartbeat. Yeah...
For those of a more pragmatic nature, we should mention that Congolese dance helps combat reproductive disorders such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, and irregular cycles, as well as disorders of the prostate. The movements increase the flow of oxygen and blood to the body's mid-section, which aids in the prevention of disease.
