I figure after 9 months it's time to update this part of the profile page. I grew up in Lansing, MI and still live here. I have a wonderful wife of 15 years and two dogs, Tucker and Riley. Tucker is a lovable buy psychotic Maltese ... Riley is an even more lovable but very shy mutt. He's kind of a daddy's boy, while Tucker is my wife's shadow. I've been interested in music since I first heard it ... and could actually understand it. As a young child I was influenced a lot by what my oldest brother David listened to ... lots of 60's and 70's rock. As I got older I fell in love with 50's and 60's doo wop, and the Beatles ... the latter influenced by my other older brother John. I've always loved the harmonies in both. Unfortunately I stink at figuring out and singing harmonies, so I stuck with learning lead parts. During highschool and college I was a rap music junkie (and still am really, only most people don't know it). Give me a cool bass line and creative lyrics and I can jam for hours. This I share with my younger brother Matt ... who actually loves all types of music ... 'cept country. I'm alone in the family with that! I'm currently Mr. White Collar, working for a pretty large and successful engineering firm by day. At night and on the weekends I'm most at home in blue jeans, a t-shirt, and cowboy boots. I fell in love with country music about 15 years ago ... mostly because of the story it told. It was real to me, and I could relate to so much of it. As much as I used to sing other types of music, my voice seems to lend itself to country (or so others have told me), so I decided to pursue it. Teaming up with a friend from a church I used to attend, and the worship leader from my current church, I formed a band called Fall Creek. We play country and rock music, and I must say, I'm having a blast doing it. I wish I would have pursued it 20 years ago ... who knows what would have happened. In addition to the live band gigs I also work as a Disc Jockey for private and corporate events. Like playing and singing in a a band, it allows me to be around people and around music ... and get paid for it. How much better can it get eh? Having grown up a very shy, introverted kid with a severe stuttering problem, it's nice to finally be out of my shell and enjoy life. While you never quit or get cured of stuttering, I pretty much got it under control in my early twenties ... a little over 16 years ago. Wow, how time flies. Since then I've battled to get my personality and esteem back. Now you can't shut me up - and I love it.
