About Me
A group of girls called "Tha Pro'Fetish'ionalz", started a small underground music group called "Its Just Marijah", forming from 22 year old, Marijah Verin's idea of wanting to go public with their, formerly private, underground sorority. These young women have been writing and creating music since they were elementary school students, getting an early start by growing up together, and keeping themselves as a close, and almost private, circle of friends. So by the time they hit their teens, they'd performed in different areas of Maryland, California, Georgia, and in Miami, Florida, practicing experimental, rock, R & B, hip-hop, and alternative influences amongst their listeners. They are an underground sorority, modeling group, and low-key musicians. They write, perform, play, and sing their own music. They are not currently signed to a label.
Marijah Verin has been a musical success since birth. Her father sought to have her take lessons, but one after another, no one would accept because Marijah was only 3 years old. They told her father that age was too young, and without the proper mathematics skills, she would not take to the skill properly nor in a timely manner. So her father took lessons himself, just so he could teach her. He also enrolled her in several visual and performing arts camps and programs year after year from then on, including acting, dancing, and later she took lessons and performed playing the organ, as well. When she was 13, she accepted an invitation to attend Suitland Visual and Performing Arts High School, and in her 17th year, she was accepted into Juilliard and Adelphi University. She also received a partial scholarship to go to Wellesly College. Being her first year of college, and accepting small jobs in Maryland, she decided to stay in Maryland, and attended Morgan State University, instead.
Marijah is a 1st alto in the Morgan State University Choir. She is a professional accompanist, and also an educator to elementary school-level children. She has been taking lessons in the area of piano concentration for 19 years, and counting.. Her area of expertise along with playing is teaching-- her children love her just as much as her hometown fans. She is dedicated and devoted to teaching children about life and self-love, not just piano and English. She believes in making a difference starting with their heart, and not just with their minds. Sometimes it is hard to tell where she places her first love; with music, or with children, which may be why she combines them both.
Marijah's first passion and talent beyond working with children in music, is modeling. She has appeared in various magazines and several newspaper articles, including making the cover of a very popular runway folder in a Russian province, near her hometown. She has worked, and supposedly, though busy with her work in music, continues to work with various modeling agencies, and photographers, including various photo and video shoots, including new upcoming rapper King Kan's, "Chain Swang", and Neo-Inda's photo shoot for the 1st Reyalan Gala. Marijah started modeling very early, around the same time she started music, at the age of 3, when she landed a small roll in her first commercial, an advertisement for baby shampoo, and a prominent producer from the outland agency "What Love ICN" requested her for more ads and short-term rolls as one of their permanent clients.
By the time she turned 11, the stress of balancing too many things, and being expected to be at so many places at once, began to weigh heavily on her. Her mother and father were concerned, and told her she had to drop ICN and return her focus to piano and her schoolwork to prepare for high school. Her focus being put back on her playing skill, she returned to performing and competing in various competitions and talent shows for several years, even into high school, and it was in her sophomore year of high school that she was 1st discovered for accompaniment and picked up by Dmitri Nassar to work with him and his school, when her real exposure for working with children began at the age of only 15.
Marijah is a longtime member of the Guild National Piano-Playing Auditions. She has won the Local, District, National, and International Awards, and the Bach Plaque Award, as well as the International Pin of Music Honor.
She was also accompanist and assistant to the choir director, Dmitri Nassar, at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School, where she assisted in many concerts and benefits, and travelled to Virginia, Georgia, and several other locations, helping not only the choir to awards and honors, but winning the Best Accompanist Award and Trophy two years in a row, herself.
Marijah continues to write lyrics with her group "Its Just Marijah", and play the part of a background producer, creating melodic and harmonic lines for some of the underground successes they have come up with so far. Its just a matter of time before this young woman has made her name solely public for her audience and fans to appreciate in the eyes of millions...
