Some things I've said in my life (or, things I'd like to trademark and put on a t-shirt):

"The blog truth: I'm 98% my Readership"

"Girls on Mac"

"I have more baggage than a trans-Atlantic cruise-ship."

"He's so chauvenistic. I'm sick of his condensation!"

"Chocolate is GOOD Evil"

"I love drinkin', cussin' and fightin' too much to not be Scots-Irish!"

Some better things more famous people have said:

"They say Mother Earth is breathing/with every wave that finds the shore / Her soul rises in the evening/for to open twilight's door / Her eyes are the stars in heaven/Watching o'er us all the while / And her heart tis in Ireland/Deep within the Emerald Isle" -Garth Brooks

"Singin' seems to help a troubled soul" -Johnny Cash

"My hovercraft is full of eels" -Monty Python (Translated in Latin: Mea navis aëricumbens anguillis abundat. And, of course, in Irish Gaelic: Tá m'árthach foluaineach lán d'eascainn. Just in case you want to impress people.)

"Courage: What makes a King out of a slave? Courage. What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage. What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage. What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the "ape" in ape-ricot? COURAGE!"-The Cowardly Lion (the abridged version mind you).

"It's 5:00 o'clock somewhere in the world. Let's have a cocktail!" -Anonymous (but I heard it from my Dad first!)

MY LATEST MOVIE-HUNK OBSESSION: Still Hugh Jackman. However, I must say I just saw "Enchanted" and Patrick Dempsey has me kind of warm all over. *sigh....McDreamy!*

My children are my life! I've been married six years and our daughters are the most precious things in our lives.

As a redhead, I'd like to share this wee bit of advice: NEVER piss one of us off. Somewhat of a general life rule offered up. Those of you who've dated, just known, or, bless yer soul, married or is blood-related to one of us ...well, you know.

ANYTHING Irish or Scottish is grand. Some day I'll see those beautiful Cliffs of Moher and the highlands in person. Til then it's Irish music, bagpipes, celtic festivals and my Irish boss to fill my soul. And, tho' I be a red-wine gal, I firmly believe Guinness is good for the soul. As is Irish Whiskey.

SHOES are also good for the soul: especially spiky heeled, strappy ones. Meow!

Men in kilts – especially if they're drummers or pipers – are also VERY good for the soul. Wow.

Halloween kicks off my favorite time of year! I love making costumes for my girls and historical costumes for myself. Mine usually have a bit of "dead" theme to them. Costume history is my passion: as a kid I learned about classic paintings by the type of clothing worn in the pic. On that note: my favorite pet peeve: Classic Hollywood flicks – who knew Cleopatra wore gold lame or pioneer women had bouffant hair-dos and cat-eyeliner?? :)

Fall is the BEST time of year. Football, falling leaves, cloudy skies, scarves, sweaters and boots, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas! The lights, music and trees...fires in fireplaces, orange & clove & cinnammon aromas...All = Heaven! With that said, I hate Southern California weather. I'm Swedish, German and Scots-Irish - it is genetically impossible for me to accept wearing shorts in November!

I absolutely LOVE Harry Potter. I have another profile dedicated to that amazing series at myspace.com/kryssindor. My husband calls me Kryssindork. Oh well. My office is filled with HP toys. Well, except for that one corner that's all about Pirates of the Caribbean.

Big Sur, CA camping is the well from which I refill my soul. I would LOVE to move to Central California.

I'm a rockabilly at heart. Spiked heels, cardigans and seamed stockings are perfectly acceptable office attire! Greasers in classic cars, beat up Chucks and a few tattoos melt my heart.
Music is my lifeblood. I want to be buried with my beloved iPOD. For the full report on my tastes, see the music part of this profile.

Scuba diving is a lot more exciting, life-altering and fulfilling than my other hobby of doing crosswords...in INK I might add. Don't mess with me, I'm a dangerous girl..above and below. Kapow!

Weekend fun: Disneyland, lurking around Dog Beach, in HB, or trekking out to Sun City/Temecula to visit our wonderful grandparents.

My Interests

I believe I blathered on to no end at the right there. A wee bit redundant, eh what?

I'd like to meet:

J.K. Rowling, Daniel Radcliffe, Jason Isaacs, Hugh Jackman, Viggo Mortensen, The Chieftains, Eddie Izzard, Brian Setzer, Bono (to say thanks for everything),Jack Black,Loreena McKennitt, Johnny Depp, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Dan Brown, Henry Rollins.

And, because I believe in ghosts: Michael Hutchence, Agatha Christie, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Judy Garland, Danny Kaye, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.
BTW: I NEVER want to meet the Oxyclean guy. EVER. Argh!

Music:

Everything that really moves me always has an incredible beat. The harder and hotter the percussion the better.

Celtic/Irish music

The Chieftains, The Dubliners, Loreena McKennitt, The Pogues, The Gobshites, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Wicked Tinkers.

Classic Swing, Big Band and Jazz

Miller, Goodman, the Dorseys, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Spike Jones, the Andrew Sisters,Brian Setzer Orchestra! ad nauseum. Everyone should understand where good ol' rock 'n' roll came from.

I'd like to bridge the gap here with: Richard Cheese. Swank you very much, you're beautiful, you really are.

Rockabilly

Stray Cats, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Lynda Kaye, Danny B. Harvey, Lonesome Spurs, Roy Orbison, Slim Jim Phantom, Lee Rocker

80s Shtuff

Straycats (still have my album from 9th grade), Duran Duran (ditto), U2 (um, ditto), INXS (aaaand ditto), Tears for Fears, Soft Cell,(me thinks I've got it lurking about somewhere...if not...shit), Oingo Boingo. The best concerts I've been to: TFF, INXS (At the Palladium...still have the stub from 1985). and OB (their next to last OB concert at Universal...hell, what a loss). But my iPod playlist has some guilty pleasures in there too. One Night in Bangkok anyone? Puttin' On the Ritz? Rock Me Amadeus? Ghostbusters? It goes on. I'm not afraid to admit it. I guess the nerd in me beat out the subversive punk rocker that still rages around inside me poor wittle heart.

Punk

Some have been from when I was in jr. high school/high school, way, way, WAY, waaaaaay back in the 80's, some are the result of the realization that I missed out on so much first time around: X (I love 4th Of July), Social D, Siouxsie, Black Flag/Henry Rollins, The Clash , Ramones, Dead Kennedys, PIL

Classical

I'll listen to anything classical, but I've always preferred Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, harpsichord/baroque music, chamber music, Andrea Bocelli.

Electronica

Vangelis, Enigma, Kraftwerk, Beastie Boys In Sounds from Way Out!, Thievery Corporation, Blue Man Group. As long as the percussion kicks ass.

Soundtracks

John Williams (Harry Potter, etc.), Rachel Portman (Emma), James Newton Howard (Peter Pan), Danny Elfman (all his soundtracks)

Old Time Radio (OTR)

Don't know what old time radio is? Check it out at iTunes...it's what life was before television. Families would circle around the radio and listen intently to drama, comedy, music...all from the biggest stars of the day. Orson Wells, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Fibber McGee and Molly, Amos n Andy...my favorites though were detective and mystery and suspense/thriller shows: The Shadow, Richard Diamond Singing Detective (hilarious, even 60 years later), Light's Out!, Boston Blackie, Lewis and Martin,(Martin and Lewis??)et al. Try it, you might just like it!

Other loves/iPod playlists

Live, Dishwalla , Shakira, Elvis, Classic 40's western, Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Paul McCartney/Wings, Chris Isaak, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Monkees, Pearl Jam, Norah Jones, Queen, Classic Hollywood movie soundtracks, Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis, The Coral, Corinne Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse. Guilty pleasure: Musicals. Hell, I even like some disco. Aaaaah freak out! Beep beep!

Movies:

Harry Potter (all), Pirates of the Caribbean (all), Lord of the Rings (all), Gladiator, Enchanted, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Young Frankenstein, Clue, Murder by Death, The Princess Bride, Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Super Troopers, Knocked UP, School of Rock, Indiana Jones (first and third, the middle tanked), Star Wars (the real one), pretty much anything Disney and Monty Python, Office Space, Eddie Izzard in concert, Walk the Line, Peter Pan the motion picture, Kate and Leopold, X-Men

Classics
I remember my dad taking me to the theater for a re-showing of Gone with the Wind when I was 5 and I have been madly in love with classic movies and the "Golden Age of Hollywood" ever since! Some favorites: Topper, Laura, The Philadelphia Story, Road movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, Marx Brothers movies, Arsenic and Old Lace, North by Northwest, Bringing Up Baby (anything with Cary Grant!), Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Court Jester, A Song is Born (anything with Danny Kaye), Robin Hood, Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes movies, Wizard of Oz, Singin' In the Rain, Casablanca, Notorious, Rear Window, Lifeboat, Love Finds Andy Hardy. Battleground is the best WWII movie ever! Occasionally TCM will throw out a mini-marathon of Nancy Drew, Charlie Chan, Boston Blackie, et al...I LOVE TCM! Guilty pleasures: Doris Day/Rock Hudson movies and any musical.

Television:

Man vs. Wild,, Survivormans,Scrubs,Ghost Whisperer, Mystery!, Star Trek TNG/DSN, CSI (Las Vegas), Miami Ink, L.A. Ink, History/Discovery/Travel. Basically I love anything about history, architecture, travel, ghosts, forensics, detectives, murder mysteries. But honestly, most of the time if we watch t.v. it's Disney channel. That's toddler's for ya. 42" high-def plasma flatscreen and it's all about Raven and Hannah Montana. * sigh *

Books:

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Wee Free Men, Hatful of Sky, The Da Vinci Code, Agatha Christie mysteries, Harry Potter, Martha Grimes "Richard Jury" mysteries, Shakespeare's plays, history books about Ireland, Scotland, England, The Celestine Prophecy, Harry Potter, The Secret (meh, take what you need, leave the rest) and The Prayerful Wife. Oh, and Harry Potter. Oops. I think I forgot to mention Harry Potter. Har har.

Heroes:

Firefighters. They are the real-life Supermen and Wonderwomen. Never forget 9/11.
