About Me

Well, I decided to change my about me section... the other one sounded a bit wacky. Anyway... First thing is first- I'm not a New Zealander, not a Kiwi, not a Maori! There's nothing wrong with them I'm just not one :-) I always get asked if I am so I thought I'd clear that up. Im a bit of a blend, my Mum is half Filipina half Spanish and my Dad is Australian born with Welsh, German, Irish and English heritage. I'm really proud of being a mongrel! Anyway, I'm probably not unlike yourself. I enjoy going out and being surrounded by fun, happy people. I like to meet new people and often talk to complete strangers when I go out. I like dance music in it's many various forms- as well as singing, dancing, driving and getting ready to it. I like to have a drink and that every now and then. I like shopping... well actually I just like getting new stuff. I'm a bit impulsive. I'm currently enrolled in a Masters of Psychology but I'm trying to change to a Graphic Design degree because I think I'd enjoy working in that field more... I'm too sensitive to deal with messed up people. I have a crappy car, my first and only car so far- GO THE LASER!! I have a boyfriend of nearly 4 years -Dael. We've been living together for about three and a half years. Despite being almost complete opposites we get along really well and can tell each other everything- he's my best friend. I also have a dog named Elroy (aka Sniff). He is the best dog ever! I just wished he wasn't afraid of swimming :-( He's nearly 5 and as far as I know he is a: Jack Russel X Pomerainian X Kelpie X Border Collie... He is really playful! I work in a family business that was started by my Nanna. It's not very exciting but it pays :-) Looking for another part time job at the moment as well- kinda ;-)Other than all of that I enjoy trying new things and going on adventures. I have a few really good friends and lots of lurkers LOL. I try not to watch the news or read the newspapers and gossip mags because I think they're full of B.S. and I also find it depressing. Oh, and sometimes I go to the gym...

My Interests

I'm not really obsessivly interested in anything. If I ever am it usually only lasts a while. I've been interested in the beach, swimming, dancing, art, witchcraft, tarot, feng shui, alternative stuff, raving, music. I guess I'm still somewhat interested in most of those but I'm always looking for something new... My latest craze is festivals! I love them! -so much fun, you can meet so many funky people and you get to hear a variety of music you might not normally go for. I also like taking photos- nothing real fancy I just like capturing moments and interesting looking things. Anyway... at the moment I'm planning on learning to surf and saving (kinda) to go to the Philippines. I fantasise about one day getting my motorbike licence and getting a wikid bike...

I'd like to meet:

One day I'd like to meet my rellies in the Philippines. If it were possible I'd like to meet my ancestors- even just my great-grandparents...I'd like to meet more happy, friendly people...I'd like to meet an eskimo- seriously! Just because I havn't yet and I used to love 'Pingu'I'd love to meet someone who could really inspire me and give me some direction...

Music:

My taste in tunes is pretty broad but I love most types of dance the most. I love most types of trance, especially the girlie, fluffy, vocally stuff that you can just close your eyes and sing to. I also like some housey type stuff. And I love dark, deep, disturbed drum'n'bass as well as some of the lighter stuff. I love jumpin' around all night to some hard nrg. I don't mind a bit of hardcore or happy hardcore or even the cheesy stuff. There's just too many dance acts that I love to name... I realised the other day that I like Indie music and I'll tap my foot to some Aussie hip-hop. I love The Killers and Oasis... I also like Panic! At the disco, Hilltop Hoods, Scribe, and some R'n'b is good... I recently discovered The Presets and Arctic Monkeys- They're both awesome!

Movies:

Not a huge movie buff but don't mind the occasional flick... I fall asleep if I sit still too long though. Mainly I love comedies. Other movies I can remember liking are: Trainspotting; Human Traffic; Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels; Eternal Sunshine -of a spotless mind; The Butterfly Effect; Madagascar; Snatch; Shawshank Redemption; The Castle... hmmm there are probably others. I just saw 'The pursuit of Happyness' which i thought was really good -It's a bit of a tear jerker. And apparently I need to see 'Night at the Roxby', and 'Requiem for a Dream'.

Television:

Well, I wish we had foxtel again but I guess it's good because I don't sit around watching Maury Povich repeats. My favorite T.V show is Seinfeld! I love George and Kramer! They're hillarious. I like some of the funny cartoons occassionally... like Daria. At the moment all I really watch is 'So you think you can dance' and 'Biggest Loser' umm... for inspiration maybe?

Books:

Don't read much anymore- besides textbooks :-( the last thing I read was 'The Hidden Messages in Water' by Masaru Emoto. It's a bit interesting and it has some nice pics in it which helps. Two books that stand out for me are 'Sophie's World' and 'The Solitaire Mystery' both by Jostein Gaarder. Long but good.

Heroes:

No one specific really... people with goals, dreams, passion, talent and ambition. Old couples who are still happily married. People that help others just to be helpful. People who keep trying no matter what. Oprah, possibly Salvador Dali for his ideas and his art, Angelina Jolie ...My Dog -cos he's a trooper!
