About Me

Born in Oxford, 1985. Moved to Cirencester were I spent my school/college youth. I then went on to persue a music Technology course in Leicester at Demont Fort University, Ive just finished Uni and passed hurah!!! im unemployed!!! hurah!!!. My debut 5 track EP has just been released on vorbic and is available for free download at www.vorbic.com along with a load of other great ambient/ IDM /beaty/ Funky artits also on the label (see my EP cover below). I tend to work along side a mate I lived with at Uni called Gareth West who does the majority of my art work and music videos. One video is avialable below and others will be on there way soon, some awsome animation on his part! To me my music is like a mirrored image of my inner emotions and thoughts that are not always visible at times to even my friends or family. I think my music spans a wide range of emotional content and is'nt reliant just on one like unhappyness for example (KILL THE EMO BANDS!!). I try to only use legal samples and synths. Most of the time I tend to record my own sample material via DAT machines and mics. Or I make my own synths in Max/Msp and then sample that. I lov playing live so give me a message if your interested in booking me were ever it may be. Hope you enjoy the music, leave comments good or bad. cheers!!!!!!! safe!!!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: vorbic.com/releases/vrb009/
Band Members: gavin murray AKA Mananaa and his computer, DAT machines, mics, instruments, and programmes like max/msp and Logic
Influences: My first love in terms of music was metal. Before hand though I had been bought up on my dads side by 60's and 70's rock like Jimi hendrix, Joe Walsh and Queen and on my Mums side by old cheezy black soul music and smooth cheeze like phil collins, Chris Rea and Cliff Richard.......ow....nasty eh! When I got into metal I was drawn to bands like Pantera, Sepultura and Slayer, and then became obsessed with the NU-Metal phase. During the later parts of this musical enjoyment I started listening to Drum 'n' Bass, whcih lead me to leave my roots and listen to dance music. But most of this early dance music stuff ended up boring me after a while and didnt have the same interesting structures as my prior tastes of metal for instance. So I started listening to electronica and IDM stuff. Since then Ive just become a whore for any style of music regarless of its associated image or culture. I just fuckin listen to anything like every fuckin one else and tend to enjoy anything thats got some fuckin raw passion and effort sewen into its fuckin seams. I dont want to hear the same old fuckin genre specific stuff that just sounds exactly like an already established artist but remains a b-side in quality and individual expression. In my eyes your never gonna produce something so pure and original that would make you the pioneer god, For me I just try and make something that comes from within me and from my heart. I try and not give to much of a fuck about how its gonna be percieved, i just try and conscentrate on what it does for me. Hope you enjoy the tunes on this page, thats the end of my little rant. eh! cheesr!!!!!!
