Influences: Hands down Lauryn Hill is the epitome of sucess. Shes a true artist thats stays true to her work. She motivates me to do more than just singing and rapping. Lauryn makes me want to try all aspects of life and make them out to be the best experience possible...So thanks Lauryn! What can I possibly say about the genuis John Legend...I mean his work speaks for itself. He has a powerful voice with amazing piano skills. But it doesn't stop there...He's a true believer when it comes to the music. I like that he stays true to his roots. He takes so many styles and stick it to any genre. Tell me what artist you know can work with Kanye West, then turn around and do a collaboration with the AMAZING Lauryn Hill. He makes the boring seem exciting. WOW...if she isn't Tina Turner in the making then what is she? Everyone knows that Beyonce is making the impossible seem possible. Her career is extremely successful. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about this artist. People are waiting to see her fall but what they don't know is that ANGELS don't fall. Her voice is amazing along side her dance moves. Beyonce Knowles...Everytime I see her, it seems as though shes a new person because she is always reinventing herself...Love her 2 DEATH!!! QUEEN OF SOUL!!! If you don't know by now then here goes...Aretha Franklin has set the road for artist such as Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Jennifer Hudson, ETC...So many women have looked up to her. I can't call her an artist though because shes more than that. Theres not a day that goes by that I am not listening to "CHAINS OF FOOLS." Shes more than an influence...I'll say shes more like an addiction. You can't get enough of her and you won't get tired of her. With a voice like thunder who can ignore her? She sings from her "BODY AND SOUL." Shes so greatly appreciate for music. I can't just have one of her CD's. I go out and buy copies just because I'm afraid of losing her. Anita Baker can sing me to sleep with her beautiful angelic voice. She is underestimated though, but in my eyes shes more than just a voice and a talent. She has paved the road for me as an artist and I greatly appreciate her for that... You ever heard someone who gives you chills up your spine? If not, I take it that you haven't heard Donny Hathaway's work. He brings tears of joy to my eyes when I hear him. He's a hopeful singer...even in death, Donny Hathaway has me intrigued with the way he blesses the mic. He should have his own genre because I've never heard anyone like him.
