Crimson Dust

America's Band

About Me

“America’s Band”Crimson Dust plays a rock style that surpasses the boundaries of the genre. Crimson Dust fuses the classic sounds of 1970s rock n’ roll, the power of contemporary rock, and the southern tinge of bands south of the Mason-Dixon to create a unique rock sound. At times, Crimson Dust is loud, raw, and in your face; other times, their sound is soft and heartfelt.Crimson Dust consists of Joe Lahue lead vocals and guitar, Sam Crecelius guitar and vocals, Reggie Brewer bass and vocals, and Adam Breeden drums. Crimson Dust sites the following bands as primary influences: The Black Crowes, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Drive-By Truckers, Pearl Jam, Guns N Roses, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty, The Band, and Silvertide.Crimson Dust has several years of gigging and recording experience under its belt. In 2003, Crimson Dust released its first album No Further to Fall on Hogtown Records. Two songs from this album, “One More Try” and “Feel The Cold,” received extensive airplay on Louisville’s 93.1 The Fox, Muncie’s 93.1 The Bird, and Marengo’s 89.9 WBRO. Both tracks received extensive email requests, and “One More Try” appeared on The Fox’s Best of The Year Program. Following the release of No Further To Fall, Crimson Dust hit the road and embarked on a five-state tour of the mid-west. The “We’re Poor Tour” was very successful, and the band returned home with renewed vigor and a new mission.Following the “We’re Poor Tour,” Crimson Dust returned to gigging and participated in several high profile gigs. Crimson Dust took part in Louisville’s Thirsty Mellon Festival, and taped a TV program for The University of Indianapolis. In the spring of 2005, Crimson Dust returned to the studio to cut two tracks for an Internet release. The band distributed these tracks through their website (www.crimsondust.net) and myspace page (www.myspace.com/crimsondust). One track, “Black Suit,” was used by Indiana University Southest during a commercial for campus activities.Crimson Dust gigged and wrote extensively for the next year and on December 28, 2006 released Behind the Hat through Hogtown Records. With Behind the Hat, the band successfully captured the ferocity of a Crimson Dust live show. Following the initial release, Crimson Dust participated in two radio interviews and released album’s lead off single, B.R. Thur, which remains a staple on local radio. The album continues to sell exceptionally well and to receive acclaim from fans and critics alike. Maria Abel, radio personality for WBRO’s Homespun, praised the band and its music saying, “Crimson Dust twists their collective influences create to a retro rock sound that is new and fresh.”As always, the band continues to write new material and perform, and looks forward to upcoming releases and a bright future.Release Neil Young's "Time Fades Away" Album
