Phaedra

I'm Phaedra Kwant, I play bassguitar, double-bass, sing and compose.I live in Amsterdam, the city where I studied at the Conservatory. In 2002 I finished the regular studies with the main subject bassguitar and was invited to continue studying and so I became the first female Master of Music Bassguitar in the Netherlands in 2004. I'm working as a bassplayer and singer in several styles, such as jazz, pop, funk and Brazilian music. I really enjoy the diversity of playing all kinds of music! Therefore I play in several different bands an I'm leader of my own band in which I play and sing my own songs.I've been touring in theatres with well-known Dutch comedian Claudia de Breij for a couple of years, and I worked and played for example with Edwin Rutten, Alessandro Safina, Liesbeth List, Deborah Brown, Candy Dulfer, Boris, New Generation Bigband and Michelle (Eurovision Songcontest 2001). I also teach in playing bassguitar, double-bass and songwriting, work as a studiomusician and write technique-workshops in a unique magazine 'De Bassist'.More music and info on my website: www.phaedrakwant.nl
