Then immigrated in 1979 to the US.The road to photography was not a direct one. For a while he traveled through most of the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. After travelling, he went to study Art at the Art Students League in New York, then Ecole Des Beauex Art in Paris, and back to New York Studio School. He also did Art painting in Long Island, NY at a little beach bungalow, where he exhibited at some galleries and Colleges, then began to switch to photography due to the realistic style of his painting. He first photographed his own paintings and friends - then jobs started to pour in, and he became a photographer of Fine Art. Some of the clients were - museums, Max Ernst family and other artists. For love, he photographed a lot of landscapes with his 4x5 view cameras, admiring and learning from photographers like Ancel Adams and Edward Weston. One of the lucky breaks brought him to 'product photography', and for a while he was "doing" product catalogues. One day, as he was doing "stills" for a motion picture, he got a call from a highly rated Fashion Trade Magazine and got hired on the "spot" as a staff photographer. That brought him to Fashion Photography. He worked there for seven years, but now has his own studio in Manhattan, NY, and shoots major Fashion shows e.g. Olympus Fashion Week (Seventh on Sixth Events), Magazine Ads, Editorial Spreads, Catalogues, Headshots, Models from different modeling agencies and teaches Photography Workshops.Alexei's life philosophy is that, "Even though life is like performing psychic brain surgery on oneself, in a battlefield of mirrors - the truth is to never give up."visit my websites: www.alexeiafonin.comwww.alexeipro.com
