8 Ball Rack

8 Ball Rack formed in San Diego, when long time friends and bandmates, Clint Welch (guitars/music) and Drew Duff (bass) joined ranks with Cathryn Beeks (vocals/lyrics) and Matt Silvia (guitars/music/lyrics/vocals). Shortly thereafter, Dave French (drums/percussion) joined the band and completed the line-up. In 2001 they released their debut, 14 track, self titled album. After winning Hard Rock Cafe's San Diego Battle of the Bands, 8 Ball Rack placed 2nd amongst the 144 bands who participated in Hard Rock Cafe's National Battle of the Bands. 8 Ball Rack disbanded in August of 2002, but remain close friends and collaborators. Clint Welch is a Realtor in San Diego and continues to write & play music in his spare time (www.myspace.com/clintwelch). Matt Silvia and Cathryn Beeks still perform in their bands, The Cathry Beeks Ordeal (www.myspace.com/cathrynbeeksordeal) and SweetTooth (www.myspace.com/sweettoothrocks). Dave French has moved to Texas and is still one bad ass drummer...he is currently in graduate school attaining his Masters Degree in Information Assurance (network security). Drew Duff owns a carpet & upholstery cleaning company called, Suck It Up, in Ocean Beach, CA. Most recently, Clint and Cathryn have returned to the studio to develope some new tracks and possibly a new album...stay tuned!
