It started very early in my life....when I was 4 I already had musical interests and when I was 6 I was already a kiss-fan! Standing on the stairs with a tennis-racket headbanging on their records! I grew up with heavy rock of the seventies; My parents had some records like Deep Purple In Rock and Uriah Heep stuff. I like a lot of different styles; I think it's very important (not only for musicians) to listen to many styles........too much of the same music causes braindamage!!! When I got my first stereo-set I was taping from radio etc untill I began with tapetrading......From that moment I discovered more music styles than I ever could imagine! From the music I could hear on the radio untill punk/hardcore, heavy/speed/thrash metal and name a few more! In that time I began with playing guitar......first acoustic en later....don't have to mention..... My roots are in thrash metal....even in the death-metal period I was loyal to my roots of playing. Only one thing was changed......I tuned my guitar differently...lower! It had a lot more body so there was no way back! After playing in several bands I started a band called Strawl; After a while a rapper filled in the vocal part and that was something new! It was the same period of RATM getting a lot of succes but we sounded different... Some people said it was comparable with bands like Downset and others said it was like Black Sabbath with a rapper. For me it sounded like big compliment!Later I was on a party...you know....a lot of beer and other alcoholic drinks...can't remember a lot of this but the next day I found a note in my backpocket with a phonenumber and a band name Clone Devotion. I asked my friends who and how and when and where.....and a few weeks later I played with the guys of this Grindcore-band. Before we started to do gigs the name was changed into MY MINDS MINE. We played a lot (even on big festivals....not bad for a grind-band) and made a lot of contacts with other grindbands. We got famous because of our act.....there are only a few bands that perform so much rage on stage as MY MINDS MINE did. Can't remember one gig without scratches or bruises! I had a big time!!! Later I started get bored....I wanted to re-invent my way of playing and I was not motivated enough to go through.....if I should stay I knew I would be a stand-in-the-way for my bandmates so I quit. They had another bass-player and the bass-player went on guitar.....they had a mini-tour in Japan and a lot of other foreign gigs after I left so I think it was a good choice!I like a lot of styles to play (if I play another style you still can hear I'm a metal guitar-player) and to listen to...... Blues/Jazz/Folk/Funk/Heavy metal/Thrash metal/Death metal/Math metal/Grindcore/Hardcore/Reggae/Punk/Rock/etc. I like it raw!!! A lot of recordings have been edited too much; if a band's capable to play it live I got the deepest respect for it but mostly it's a disapointment when I see it on stage........Later I wanted something different...I called Ruygh and asked if he would play some real metal......ROOM no. 13 was born! We played groovy, technical metal and I think that's a good combination. Don't forget to look at www.myspace.com/roomno13!!!!!!!!!!! Because of the contacts I still had we played a lot..again! In this band I started to play on 7-string guitars to get the low tune and still having the high tones when necessary! Unfortunately everything has an end and so has Room no. 13...... Now I'm having several projects and I'm playing in the band Sadotank. Have a look at: http://www.myspace.com/sadotankIn daily life I'm a welder/machine-operator/co-operative in logistics in a company (foreman).....we're making stuff like roofracks/bullbars/sidebars etc. It's not possible to make music for a living in my style - in my country so I had to get a job to make a living. When work's over I get into my own world cuz that's what it is.....I think there are many ways to create your own world and feel happy inside it.I love tattoos too!!!! Untill now I got my arms filled with ink and I'm having some ideas for my legs (only under knees). I think it's a way of life....every tattoo is a print that symbolizes a part of your life, in fact, it is for me. Again an expensive thing in my life.....nice things always are! That's where I'm working for!Except music there are a few more things important to me.....My wife, my family and my dog! It's a lot of hard working but I can tell everyone I built my own studio (it's not as big as you see on TV but it is something and I built it with my own hands!....ehm with a little help from my father...hehe). I walk outside my house to the backyard and there's my own world!!! And I own this world!!!!It's my intention to give lessons in playing metal-guitar in a rock 'n roll way (just shut up and play your guitar!!!! Playing like you do in a band; not on a school where you can't learn much except you're paying too much!!!) and I've done some sessionwork for metal bands (Zubzero - bass; Mortuary IOD - guitar; Strawl - bass....in the later periods.... I started this band and played guitar in it; Edge of Anger - guitar)......................... I'm planning to do more projects too so if musicians are interested just contact me!!!!!!

Band Website: sadotank.nl
Band Members:Past:Vocatua DrauciY Society Retch Strawl My Minds Mine Room no. 13Present:Sadotank Union of Traitors
Influences: Room no. 13 in the last period......The people you are playing with are the biggest influence there is....cuz of the interaction.....the second influence is the music you listen to and the third influence is the reaction of people listening to it.
Sounds Like: ROOTH...... Always try to sound like YOU should sound......not how someone else sounds. It's always good to have some influences to invent your own but try not to sound just like.......name a few???????? This is a way to your own inner-self! I have to say don't search too frustrated cuz you can't get your sound in a few weeks......it takes time and if you have it it can change cuz you are changing too.....if you like it or not......I'm METAL and I sound like it too! One thing - you can take it as a tip - about the sound of a metal guitar..... Never forget a guitar = Middle freq.!!!!! most guitar-players are pumping to much bass into their sound = wrong!!! Why does a band have a bass-player????? Right! A band has to get a good sound all-over....not only guitar! Too much bass pushes away the bass-guitar so......NOW YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO IF YOU'RE ARE READY FOR IT!!!!!!!!
Type of Label: Major
