About Me

The origin of Petaluma's name is a Coastal Miwok phrase for "Valley of the little hills."Petaluma was founded in 1852 and at one time was the ninth largest municipality in California. From the 1880s through the 1940s, Petaluma was known as the "Worlds Egg Basket" during parts of which Petaluma residents had the highest average bank accounts in the country. Although a few egg farms still survive, dairy, high-tech, and tourism are now the driving forces of Petaluma's economy. Go to PetalumaBridge.com for the exclusive photographs and information you need, with the T-Shirts you need to wear, because this is YOUR town!
