Putting Alameda back on the map!

About Me

Danny here and I lived in Alameda all my life (I don't know if that's good or bad), and I graduated from Encinal High School in 2002. I attended Laney Junior College for 2 years and transfered to the University of California, Berkeley in the fall of 2004. This past May I just graduated from CAL with a degree in Mass Communications. I played basketball for Encinal all 4 years and then played the following 2 years after High School for Merritt College in Oakland. So I guess I got some street cred, haha!
Right now in my life I want to pursue a career in radio, I would love to be an On-Air Radio Disc Jockey/Personality for a commercial radio station. To get there I am starting from the bottom and working my way up. I started out by volunteering and DJ at KALX, CAL Berkeley's own college radio station and probably the best college radio station in the country or so I have been told. I love it there and it is very fun to be at. I try and do the news on the air when I have free time, the evening news is on every weeknight 5:30-6:00 p.m. on 90.7 FM KALX or kalx.berkeley.edu. But I am slowly getting more involved with other departments. Right now I don't have a specific time slot for when I am on the air DJing at KALX due to work but look at my calendar and check your bulletins for when I will be on the air. I usually post them when I am about to go on to give everyone a heads up. I help produce KALX's very own Metal, Punk, Loud Rock music show called "At War With Heaven," on every other Thursday Night/Friday Morning from Midnight to 1:00 a.m.
Speaking of work, I currently work and give all my time and energy to the best radio station in the bay area if not the best rock station in the country, 107.7 The Bone or www.1077thebone.com. I am a production/programming intern at The Bone and help out with th occasional promotion event and any other odd job that is needed to be done. My main work revolves around helping out with The Bone's Morning Show Lamont and Tonelli (Two of the nicest guys around as well). During the week I do production/programming work for The Bone, specifically for Lamont and Tonelli, The Bone's Morning show, listen to them 5-10 am.m every week day. Along with other production elements I make the Laughter at 10 after bits heard every day at 2:10 and 6:10 p.m. so listen then to see what I made. I guess I can be labeled as a re-occuring character on Lamont and Tonelli as well. I am the one and only Baby Huey (See what happens when you tell Lamont an old nick name you have, LOL). The guys let me come on the air once and a while and make me do whatever they want (I guess it pays off in oder to get on the air). They call me Super Producer Sully's apprentice, hence why I have to do stunts on the air, haha. I love working at The Bone and everyone who works there. The DJ's are the coolest and nicest people you will ever meet. Along with doing the post-show work for them, which involves archiving their bits from that morning for future use along with helping Sully get his Saturday Morning best of show ready and any other programming jobs that Joe Rock and Larry Sharp need done.

I feel very fornuate that I am currently in charge of doing Ta-Ta-Tuesday for Lamont and Tonelli, TTT is every Tuesday when someone has a Bone bumper sticker on their car a lady can flash them, and listeners can call in saying where they got flash or where they are driving and want to see some Ta-Tas, for me I do call ins at 6:15 a.m., 7:15 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and tell everyone where I am hanging out that morning for people to come by and donate money to the breast cancer fund and get a prize for doing so, so listen for me on the air. The guys call me Baby Huey on the air. If you want to suggest a location for me to be at, email me at [email protected], I like places that are close to a freeway and easy for people to get on and off and a place of business that has a large parking lot for large trucks.

For Bone promotion events I will most likely be there representing the station and giving away cool prizes, so come up and sai hi. Anyways, I like punk music, hard rock, metal and some ska, and other forms of loud rock if it's catchy to me. As of late, a dream of playing music with a band has become something that I want to do, except I need more free time and work can get in the way of that. I have a custom strat that I wanted to resemble Billie Joe Armstrong's of Green Day. I love going to underground punk shows and love taking pics of bands. Anything else you want to ask me just ask.
