A Life Full Of Music In A World Built On Jazz

About Me

Peter Hübl is born on 31. January in 1983. He started to play the clarinet at a age of 8 at music school of Katzelsdorf.

2000 was the first contact with the Saxophone. After school and military music he studied media technique for a year, broke up and began to study Jazz Saxophone in fall of 2004 at the conservatory of Wiener Neustadt and in fall 2007 in the Vienna conservatory private university (Johannesgasse-Bräunerstraße)

He is interested in nearly every sort of music and plays in many different bands and orchestras with many different styles. While Jazz is his main part of his works, he also plays with a classical symphonic wind orchestra and with Saxophone ensembles.

Just a few bands and ensembles he plays with: "PH JazzGroup" , "PH JazzTrio", "Big Band Project Katzelsdorf" , Bushmills, Yellowjackets Project, Saxophone Quartets, Niederösterreichische Bläserphilharmonie, ...

The main jazz band he is playing at is the "PH JazzGroup" since summer 2005. You can hear some samples of a demo production of summer 2007. It is usually a instrumental band playing many styles of jazz. They are five people (sax, guit, piano, bass, drums). But most times they play with a singer. You can hear the production of the demo cd on the "PH JazzGroup" account. In August and December the band had recording sessions. The first is allready on the "PH JazzGroup" account to be heard. The second Session is right now in and when it is ready mixed, it will be on the myspace account too! So keep on listening!

Since Summer 2007 the "PH JazzGroup" got regularly gigs at a bar in Wiener Neustadt called "Backstage" . Since January those sessions are called "PH JazzNight" and take place monthly. It is divided into two parts: the first set is with the Band and a special Guest as for example Manfred Holzhacker, Erwin Schmid, Nina Braith, ... The second set is a open session for everyone who want to play jazz.

There is a Brass Section which plays in the most important band projects in and around Wiener Neustadt. It’s called the "Giddeon Brass Section" and is built on three people: Alexander Simon (trp), Peter Hübl (reeds), Florian Spies (trb). Until now the Brass Section plays at "Barefoot Basement"(reggae), "Bushmills"(Jazz-Rock), "Jesus Christ Smokes Holy Gasoline"(Ska Punk) and "Zuckerschock" (Pop-Rock-Jazz) and is rent able for every kind of Music!

As mentioned he is playing with the brass section "Giddeon Brass Section" he also plays in different brass sections and band projects. Since a short time, he plays at bigger concerts and projects at the band "die chiller" which produces something like alpine funk! And until a short time he played regulary at the reggae band "Barefoot Basement", but now because of timely aspects, he plays also at the bigger concerts with them. So stay tuned and always look to the calender and watch the friends list where you can find those bands too!

A new project is going to be created right now. The Yellowjackets Concert Group will be installed soon. Philipp Eder and Peter Hübl are choosing the pieces right now and the musicians to full fill their dream of concerts about the great band, The Yellowjackets! Soon there will be further terms and informations about the project. Concerts are planned in fall 2008!
