The label and its distinctive studio facilities were founded by Grammy award winning producer and critically acclaimed sound designer,Martin Levan.After 20 years of experience designing sound for musical theatre and with over 30 years of recording expertise under his belt, Martin decided to set up Red Kite Records to support and promote the magic, power and excellence of performed music and transcend social constraints on musical appreciation.
One of the great attributes of Red Kite Records is itsstudio,where Red Kite albums have been exclusively produced to date. Modern recording techniques can be used in ways that restrict the potential for musical creativity, when hi-tech equipment and gimmickry take precedence over the essence of the music itself.
