About Me

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I am not sweet but I am kind, fair and also stubbornly opinionated. I admire socialism in theory but I vote Democrat. I was born in the U.S. but I was raised in Spain (Athletic de Bilbao). I served five years active duty in the U.S. Marines, a year mobilized in Kansas City, MO and have been suffering in the reserves since March 2008. I want to end up living in Paris or Thailand, both of which I have traveled to. I am totally tropical, right at home on the beach, in a hammock, fishing and drinking a beer. I am a proud Cuban studying my history and culture at F.I.U. I am a college graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Administration but I am now enrolled in a Latin Caribbean program. I love to travel and have been all over Western Europe, the South Pacific, the Caribbean and South America. I want to visit Eastern Europe but it snows there and that's enough of a deterrent. I am fascinated with India, Ireland and Turkey, none of which I have traveled to yet. Although I was raised Roman Catholic I classify my religious beliefs as atheist. I am a true Miami Sports fan, except for basketball which I can't stand. I am interested in Baroque and Pre-Raphaelite art specifically and all naturalist styles generally. I am also interested in modern languages as I am fluent in three and conversationally adept at three other thanks to the Marines. I am passionate about literature as a whole and specifically the Victorian writers. I am obsessed with Hayao Miyazaki's movies, Hello Kitty and Barbie. I collect Sanrio, vintage pill boxes, tropical art prints and antique brooches.
