Once long ago- Somebody thought- The best things in life- Cannot be bought- Like sunshine and air- Family and friends- Or love so true- That it never ends- The list is too long- So I won't bother- To name anymore- Except for my father.
If all the children-
All around-
Went to a place-
And all they found-
Was a group of moms-
From which they could chose-
There is no doubt-
I would chose you. cartoon layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com MyHotComments

I walked by this house- That was tall and grey- I could hear sounds- From far away- It sounded like screams- But that couldn't be- Nobody was around- But this house and me- Someone inside- Must be in trouble- I ran up the sidewalk- So fast, on the double- I knocked on the door- Very loudly three times- The door opened then- I heard the twelve chimes- The time was midnight- And I was not brave- But there's someone in here- I needed to save- I stepped in the house- But saw and heard nothing- Then all of a sudden- I heard the thumping- Someone was here and- Needed my help- I just couldn't leave- Inspite of myself- I followed the sound- And walked up the stairs- A cold eerie feeling- Was filling the air- I wanted to run- But my feet wouldn't move- I felt there was something- That I had to prove- I noticed a door- With a light from inside- I opened the door- Then started to cry- What I saw- Scared me so bad- Then what I heard- Made me so mad- A giggle was coming- From behind the curtain- This laugh was my friends- Of that I was certain- I said, "Come on out- I know it's you"- Then a voice from behind me- Shouted, "Boo!"- I wasn't so scared- Because I was right- It was my friends trying to scare me- On Halloween night.
You taught me how- To skim a rock- Across the lake's- Steady top- You showed me how- To handle boys- And even gave me- Your old toys- There's something I've always- Wanted to do- And that's simply to say- A big thank you- For being my sister- And being my friend- In the past, in the present- Even way past the end. When I look up to the Heavens- I know where I belong- Trying to help everyone- Just to get along- With themselves and each other- I'll help to show you the way- Straight to God's path- Each and everyday- So come with me and listen- When you hear this you'll rejoice- You may hear me talking- But it's really the Lord's voice.
If you weren't here beside me- My future would be lost- I'd do my best to find you- I'd do it at any cost- I'd search every peddle- Of every single rose- I'd look in all the trees- And follow the way the wind blows- I'd ask all the birds- And all the butterflies- If they have seen my love- Or where he likes to hide- A little bee would tell me- Something I should have known- The path to where my love was- Could only had been flown- Since angels come from Heaven- Way up past the sky- I'd know where to find you- If you weren't here by my side.
Santa knocked on my front door- He fell out of his sleigh- He asked if he could use my phone- He had to call far away- He asked if I've been good this year- I said, "Yes, Sir I have"- He said, "Oh good, I'm glad to hear- But that's really too bad- You see since I'm not in the sleigh- I can't deliver the gifts- But you could help in a special way- By giving me a lift- I know just where Rudolph should go- But we have to leave right now- We've got to make sure we beat them there- We've got to do it somehow- My wife will radio the sleigh- And hope the reindeer can hear- She'll tell them I'm not in the sleigh- And tell them there's nothing to fear- She'll tell them which one is the very next house- And I'll be waiting there- I need to be on top of that house- And wait for the reindeer to appear"- We got in my car and I drove Santa Claus- To a house that was down the street- When we got to the house he touched his nose- And the ground suddenly left his feet- As Santa floated up he shouted to me- "Thank you for all your help"- As he disappeared from my sight- I knew just how I felt- I knew there was a Santa Claus- But now I had my proof- Because Santa Claus was right up there- Waiting on that roof- As I got in my car to drive back home- I looked up to the sky- I watched the sleigh fly away- And simply waved good-bye.
