A Man Who Loves the Blues!

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 I really just signed up to see some of my friens's Myspace pages, as well as check out some bands. I ran into too many that you needed to be a member to view, so here I am.I play guitar. Mostly the Blues, but I'm into Southern and Classic Rock as well. I'm a Fender Strat guy. I started playing when I was around 11. The Blues had always been a passion of mine, so it was the first music I wanted to play. There weren't any tabs or other instructional material back then so I learned by listening to records and trying to copy what I heard. I listened to BB King, Muddy waters, Buddy Guy, Clapton, and others. The style I developed had a very distinct BB King flavor. I also loved the sound of honkey tonk/boogie piano. Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard kind of sound. While I could never copy the sound on the guitar, the raucous vibe was what I was after. I played in a band in my mid-late teens, covers of Kansas, Boston, Foghat mostly, but I still played the blues whenever I could. The experience was great, playing and learning with others, but while I liked the music we were doing, it just wasn't what I wanted. I still play, but bandmates have come and gone, and I could never find anyone to commit to the practice time it took to get good and play out. Being a realist, I know that the days of becoming "rich and famous" passed by many years ago. But! I would love to find some musicians my age, that are of the same mind musically to get together with and play would be great. What a great time it would be to play out again and have fun! Yeah, I know, the money is crap, but what a blast to be playing again!
