EVIL TWIN

About Me

formed after Shock Headed Peters briefly died from cancer of the soul; alongside British Racing Green and The Greater Good. Evil Twin was the uniting of Karl Blake and David Mellor, who had met when Lemon Kittens (karl blake plus Danielle Dax) recorded in Surrey University in March of 1980 and again later .. answering an advert in the Melody Maker for free studio time posted by Mellor, who was a student eager for experience. They were informed that due to abuse of this opportunity by local bands - it would be neccessary to charge ten pounds for those 8 hours - which would start at 6pm and end at 2am - approximately. (Dax and Blake would then take the first train of the morning back to Reading, Berks where the group had formed in april, 1978). Later, Blake got Mellor in to do some work on his album 'Lunatic Dawn Of The Dismantler' his side-project released under the name The Underneath. Evil Twin was born in October, November, 1988 and started the recording process immediately, in a small studio flat just off Bloomsbury Square (they were a Bloomsbury Group ;-}...) - the cd. recording was completed by 1991 - it having been done in approximately 3 hour stints every other week when possible to fit around Blakes railway job and the other groups rehearsals.
