Vanny Zero was born in Siracusa (Sicily) on December 6, 1984, and grew up in a little stupid town near there, as a shy, alienated and bored kid. At the age of 13 circa he meets rock'n'roll...and his life will never be the same. He soon becomes a huge fan of punk movement, philosophy and music (Sex Pistols, Adverts, Misfits, Damned, Crime, Avengers, Dead Boys, Heartbreakers, Boys, Ramones, Richard Hell, New York Dolls, Stooges, MC5) and learns all by himself how to play guitar, bass and drums. At the age of 16 he starts his own punk rock band, FestaMalva, inspired by Stooges, New York Dolls and Ramones. At the same time he works on his personal projects (blues, rockabilly and country). The band soon becomes known in the area, but a lot of troubles follow it everywhere. Explicit (and often anti-religious) lyrics, violent gigs, snotty behaviours, ostracism from most of the local pubs and places, changing line-ups, continuous problems with authorities and with people force FestaMalva to "take a break", in the summer of 2004, after three years of chaos, with no official records released. From 2004 Vanny keeps on workin' on his solo blues projects and on a new project called Without (influenced by Suicide, dark-wave, early industrial and EBM), together with his friend, the bluesman Danny Martyr. In 2006 FestaMalva is back and Vanny Zero is actually workin' with the band on the first official release. His first solo album, and the first Without's EP will be soon released on his own DIY label. Rock'n'Roll for life!!!
