Born and raised in Toronto’s Downtown Regent Park , YounG.U is making a major impact in the hip-hop industry across Canada and the US. Regent Park is North America’s oldest and largest community housing project. Complete with gangs, dealers, prostitutes, and individuals hooked on illegal substances. Growing up was a constant struggle for YounG.U . He made a few wrong decisions.He dealt drugs and participated in other street activities as a way to make some easy income. He hadn't evisioned a way out of this life and therefore was a "product of his environment". Around the age of 15, he started rapping after being inspired by some of the areas more *mature* group . By the age of 18, he decided to take his rapping seriously, and pursue a career / hobbie in music. I never knew how to do anything else. Music was the only form of release”.Since then YounG.U. has evolved as one of Toronto’s most respected emcees. Recording with artists including Canada’s own Aristo, Mayhem Morearty, and Monolith, as well as Infamous Mobb . He has independently released 3 albums, 3 mixtapes, and 3 videos of his own, as well as being featured on various other albums. He is currently working on his 4th album, “Product Of My Environment”, as well as his mixtape “100 bluntz to the head” both due for release this winter. YounG.U. has also performed in many shows at venues across Canada, US, and Australia. Opening for artists such as The Beatnuts & Talib Kweli, The Boot Camp Click, Over Sea's for Infamous Mobb.To make a long story short,YounG.U's life experiences are what makes his music excell in the music industry.
