Hiphop9er started as an Orange County garage band in 2001, and shortly thereafter emerged as a powerhouse in the underground fraternity rap circuit. Originally consisting of DJ Inbred, Officer BigStick, Kurly G Kreymer Rock, and produced by guitarist/vocalist G-Rad (credited as "Red-G" in 9er songs), hiphop9er came on the scene with "Tokin' Jew," a lackluster attempt at rhyme and rhythm.
Tokin' Jew became a blazing hit in the Orange County college music scene, and with the success came money and fame. With "Jew" fresh out of the oven, "Droppin' $hit" was released, and 9er re-recorded "Jew," adding Uncle "Kaptain Kazoo" Joe and MC Caveman to the band membership.
But, soon after "$hit" was released, one could smell a group separation. Inbred and Captain Kazoo started their own label, Kurly G vowed to never rap again, and Caveman and BigStick both went solo. Officer BigStick released a diss song, "Kerymer Weener (NegroCock)," pointing at Kurly G's lack of talent and ability, and touching on Kurly's private life. Almost immediately after, the group got back together, and Kurly G and Officer BigStick reconciled, Kurly stating that the diss song was "funny."
In late 2006, BigStick began work on "9erFinishWorst," an unfinished collaboration with DJ Inbred, which was to be 9er's opus. BigStick's "Pee and Poo" brewing as a potential one-song blowout, hiphop9er is rumored to have two very big tracks on the way soon.
UPDATE 02-21-07: hiphop9er is officially back together. A surprise release party was held at MC Caveman's estate in Las Vegas. Every 9er band member was there except for Kurly G, who was hospitalized for a chronic brownie overdose.
9er proved the rumors true that the two singles, "Pee and Poo," and "9erFinishWorst," had, in fact, been in the works for several months. About the band's getting back together, MC Caveman stated, "you know, [it's] nice."
