I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)Club 55 is located in the very center of the city in the highest, the most characteristic and controversial building of Warsaw and Poland: in the Palace of Culture. The building was constructed right after the war by Joseph Stalin as a gift from the USSR for the city of Warsaw which was destroyed during the Second World War. Throughout the whole period of communism it was treated by Poles with disrespect as a symbol of Soviet domination in Poland. Now this monumental skyscraper with its unusual architecture makes its big comeback. Thanks to its gigantic dimensions there are thousand of institutions, cinemas, theatres and clubs in its interiors. Famous Warsaw Summer Jazz Days and Chopin Festivals take place here. In 2006 it was the home of the Miss World final and in the 60-ies the only concert of the Beatles in this part of Europe took place here. Club 55 offers a unique interior, well selected choice of alcohols that can satisfy even the most demanding customers. During the week it is a place of important and unforgettable events of independent culture, films, conferences and art exhibitions initiated by the author of wall paintings Andrew Swietanowski. At weekends it transforms into the 55 premium night club with exclusive line ups, DJs and live acts, presenting always the best selection of club music from house to minimal or drum'n'bass, changing the dance-floor into a place filled with laughter, good mood and first class entertainment while the best VJs will take care of the colourful metamorphosis of the night. The entrance is located at Emilli Platter Street near the entrance C to the Sala Kongresowa.
