About Me

My name is Cezar Carvalhaes. I am a freshman at Western Michigan University. I live off-campus in an apartment with 3 of the best roommates a guy could ask for. I like to think that I'm an intelligent, honest, down to earth person with a great sense of humor. But as we all know, self perceptions are distorted. I enjoy playing guitar as well as other instruments, good conversation, sports, history, science and many other things. I love meeting/getting to know people. Check out my acoustic project: www.myspace.com/cezarcarvalhaes

My Interests

music, guitar, drums, bass, people, sports, running/jogging, walks, food, beer, driving, weight training, local shows, theater, movies, sculpture, art, languages, cultures, history, science, technology, sleep

I'd like to meet:

Claudio Sanchez, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Cedric Bixler, Jesse Lacey, Pete Townshend, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Napoleon Bonaparte, Salvador Dali

Music:

Good quality genuine music that isn't over produced nor pre-fabricated. Basically music without the bullshit. Mostly rock and alternative sprinkled with ska and garnished with latin and broadway. I do feel post 90s hip hop is garbage with few exceptions.

Comedy Central, History Channel, Discovery Channel and a little Seinfeld here or there.

Books:

The Outsiders, The Chrysalids, Shakespeare
Cyanide & Happiness @ Explosm.net

Heroes:

Terry Fox, Mario Lemieux

Life is too terminal.

Life is too terminal. I'm not ready for it. Which is crazy being that I've moved so much in my life and had to adapt so many times in the past. I've never formed such strong bonds to people as through...

edit on spreading faith by the sword

I apologize for stating that Islam encourages violence. It really doesn't. That was an error on my part. I knew at the time of writing that it wasnt' true, but somehow I wrote it th...

spreading faith by the sword

I have to say I agree with the 14th century quote from a Byzantine emperor used in Pope Benedict's speech recently which said, "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and ...

rewards and punishments, kindergarten or faith?

i'm sick of being guilt-tripped into religious things, like the "sex" bulletins that came about a while ago and the new "ashamed" one. i really don't think it's necessary for me to put my name on thin...

political fads are disgusting.

so what's up with political fads? it kind of pisses me off. politics and religion should not be "fadded." apparently amongst "educated indie scene kids" the fad is communism. how can you be attracted ...
