Tru Bloo is an emcee, artist, community organizer, and public interest attorney. As a young Arab-Armenian-American, poetry and songwriting became a significant outlet for her, and at age 15 she began performing spoken word and song at open mics, addressing various issues of societal discrimination. Color of Violence 2005 (New Orleans, LA), UCSC Women of Color Film Festival 2005 (Santa Cruz, CA), AMWAJ (Arab Movement of Women Arising for Justice 2006 - Chicago, IL), Women in Hip-Hop 2007 (San Francisco, CA), Fabulosa Fest 2008 (Russian River, CA), and MondoHomo Festival 2009 (Atlanta, GA). NaR had their debut at the HomoHop Festival 2005(Oakland, CA) and continued to perform at bay area clubs (such as Living Room & Butta in Oakland), numerous Free Palestine events (including a tribute to Rachel Corrie, San Francisco), the PeaceOUT Festival 2006 (New York, NY), Gay Pride 2006 (San Francisco, CA), Under the Volcano 2007 (Vancouver, Canada), the Free Palestine- Peace and Solidarity Festival 2008 (San Francisco), and the Mangos with Chili 2008 Borderlands Tour through the Southwestern U.S...
