Winter Party Festival is one of the world’s largest annual celebrations for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and attracts over 10,000 people from many different countries to Miami and Miami Beach. The Festival is presented by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the U.S. organization dedicated to building the grassroots power of the LGBT community. To date, Winter Party Festival and the Miami Recognition Dinner have raised well over $1.5 million for South Florida LGBT organizations. In 2006, grants were awarded to 14 groups, including: Camillus House, Equality Florida’s Human Rights Education Project, Gay, Lesbian Education Network, Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and South Beach AIDS Project.
