I went back to college four years ago. I started at Evergreen Valley College/San Jose City College and graduated with my AA in English in two years.
I just finished my second year at San Jose State and will be graduating Summa Cum Laude, with English Honors, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Dean's Scholar, etc. I am pretty damn proud of myself.
I start Grad School in the Spring. I'm going to be teaching English at the college level in less than two years.It's hard not to look back at some of the people I've known in the past, people I've worked with, people I've been involved with, people who thought I was wierd because I read books, who hated me because they thought I thought I was better than them... and not say: SUCK ON THAT!
I have two wonderful teenagers. Sometimes they hate me, sometimes I don't like them very much. But I always love them more than anything in existence, no matter what they believe. I think my daughter is the most beautiful girl in the world, I am sure my son is the most handsome boy in the world. Whatever their grades are, I know they're the smartest kids in the world. They make me laugh, a lot, sometimes even when they're in a whole lot of trouble. And no matter how much trouble they get in, I am still the proudest mom ever.
I also love to run and swim and ride my bike. I used to do all of those ALL the TIME. But ever since I started school there has been no time for any of that, I just sit at a desk all day and night instead. Now I've gained so much weight in ONLY FIVE YEARS I can't believe it, but I am determined to get started at the gym again this summer. I know what I want in school, but I have to take care of my body too.
So that's me. I'm determined and stubborn as a rock; I'm focused to the point of ignoring everything else; I work hard, I rest hard, but more than anything, I love my kids.
