I grew up in a Rhode Island seaside town. Family, friends. love and life are the ultimate truths. I eloped to Kauai and married the love of my life there on the north shore before ocean and sky.
I have a bachelor's degree from Ithaca College in comparative reIigious studies. I studied the world's religions because the catholic world I was raised in didn't make much sense, didn't explain too much about life.. or death really for that matter.I ended up becoming very interested in death and the human perception of it. Not in like the dark wear all-black and talk morbid all the time eerie way, but in a curious, conscious and spiritual way. I studied various death rituals, rites and beliefs of the world's religions.I was a grief counselor at the hospital in Ithaca where I worked with the chaplain. We essentially helped some patients cope with mortality, families deal with deaths of loved ones and helped some terminally ill patients, well.....die. It was an intense experience from which I am still sorting the effects. So I am still searching but meanwhile in the real world, where I have student loans and bills to pay, I manage a health food restaurant in West Hollywood.I have a hobby that borders on an obsession with plants and gardening so I am studying horticulture at UCLA. I landscape my huge yard, friends yards, grow orchids, build koi ponds, hike a lot, read...Been really into learning about wine lately too.
