The No Name Jam is an open jam session, which happens every Thursday night at Club Fathom on Market Street in Chattanooga, Tn. We try to create spontaneous music and open our circle to every type of music and instrument.
We're going to try to start recording each weeks jam and post it here, on this myspace profile, to give people a chance to hear what the music sounded like.
The music is created spontaneously and puts you on the spot in a way which no other music can.
The No Name Jam is now going into its tenth month. So far, we've had a variety of people show up to play a variety of instruments and we always want more. Usually we have a drum kit, a bass guitar, both of which anyone can play, as well as the required 14 guitar players (or more), but we've also had Keys, Saxaphone, Lap Steel, Congas. Feel free to bring your violin, wind instrument or anything else you feel like playing.
The goal here is to allow people to stretch their musical limits while participating in what amounts to a big musical experiment. It works great sometimes and sounds teriffic and sometimes it sounds terrible. A lot of it depends on who shows up and what kind of mood everyone seems to be in.
