Film, acting, writing, editing, reading, cooking, art, theatre, dance-clubs, the beach; eating out, decorating places, loving, traveling, healing, dreaming.AKEBOSHI: "Wind" Cultivate your hunger before you idealize... motivate your anger, make them all realize... climbing the mountain, never coming down... break into the contents, never falling down.My knee is still shaking like I was twelve, sneaking out the classroom by the back door. A man railed at me twice though, but I didn’t care. Waiting is wasting, for people like me.Don’t try, to live so wise. Don’t cry, ‘cause you’re so right. Don’t dry, with fakes or fears, ‘cause you will hate yourself in the end.You say dreams are dreams. I am not playing the fool anymore. You say... ‘cause I still got my soul.Take your time baby, your blood needs slowing down. Breach your soul to reach yourself before your gloom. Reflection of fear makes shadows of nothing... shadows of nothing. You still are blind, if you see a winding road, ‘cause there’s always a straight way to the point you see.Don’t try, to live so wise. Don’t cry, ‘cause you’re so right. Don’t dry, with fakes or fears, ‘cause you will hate yourself in the end.‘Cause you will hate yourself in the end...
Men... I prefer guys with a day or two of stubble, lol, but really and truly what I look for is a kind of inner spark, which I've seen in just about every type of human being walking the planet. So go figure. What do I know? I know what I'm attracted to--which is sudden, usually spontaneous and has something to do with confidence. What I like in a man: dependability (in the sense of character--standing for something), good looks, smart as a whip but not needing to prove it constantly, maybe even occasionally admitting that he's sort of dumb (like me); perhaps a mystical streak or two or three, at least a love for nature, and totally in love with me. Ha-ha. Ask for the world and nothing less. I love film (no homemade porno films with me and you please), art, music--almost any kind--and I like to drive. This doesn't mean I can't be bossed around by the right kind of guy. It just means that when you're tired of driving I'll take over.Hmm. Yes, it would appear that I'm looking for a boyfriend who is around consistently, more or less, some intimacy and caring, but I'm also open to friends of either gender. I am a great friend btw--reasonably sane, also reasonably brilliant, but not super rational all the time. A lack of reason can be a very rewarding and decent thing; too much reason and a person knows NOTHING... However, I am not on drugs of any kind (can't you tell?!?) and would like to avoid heavy druggy types though a little pot now and then never went astray. I'll keep you company with my glass(es) of wine or a beer or two. Then I'll launch into one of my many British accents and make you feel posh.Okay, enough pontification on the mount. P.S. Don't worry: You don't have to rescue me though if you'd like to be NICE, no objections here.Below: Hugh Grant shaking his bootie to the Pointer Sisters is just perfect for me: a prime minister of groove... Look at these ridiculous moves; my god, this guy is a FORCE!
Almost anything that does not whine, have jingle-type lyrics and claim a love for God and country... Johnny Cash and Keith Urban in the country vein, but not much else. A Beatles freak, still love David Bowie after all these years and generally rock on like Goldie Hawn except that my hair is not quite that blonde. I saw this on the telly last night and my jaw dropped; no wonder Nicole Kidman loves this gorgeous man. You wankers out there, take notice. Speaking of funny: Drew Barrymore SNL you tube video coming right up!
This year... tons. What a great year for movies: Pan's Labryinth, Babel, The Departed, Blood Diamond...even the Bond film was great. Children of Men...OMG! A Masterpiece! My old favs include Chinatown, Alien, Fanny and Alexander, A Walk on the Moon (w/Diane Lane & Viggo Mortensen) British comedy About A Boy and COMEDIES in general. Please please please make me laugh and I'll be your friend forever--or at least until you poop on me. My favorite film this year (and I called it): The Departed.
Whatever films are on cable, Ugly Betty, Entourage, HBOsky, American Idol (yes I'm addicted but bored all the same) and youtube.
I'm not reading much these days but Narnia; in the past I usually had at least three books going at once. Still, oldies but goodies include Chekhov, Shakespeare, Alice Munro, the Russians, Jean Rhys, Angela Carter, and poetry.
Buddha, Jesus, Mary, Rumi, whoever wrote The Bhaghavad Gita, Barney and me... (Tee-hee)Oh... I almost forgot and...
