Who would have thought that LL Cool J would write the biggest and probably most high-powered intention for DJ Vogue... However, already years before even somebody had the quietest notion which way Vogue would hit there was for him nothing else than "OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP".
With his just ten years he saved every penny to buy himself CD’s of legends like De La soul, Common scythe, Boogie Down Productions, run DMC etc.which he then listened to every morning, every day and every evening on his small portable CD - player again and again. Unaccepted from those of the same age, he kept more in the background and focused himself on the music. Differently than for most youngsters Hip Hop for DJ Vogue was more than only music. It was a lifestyle. Not only he listened to the music, he also lived it.. and noticed that it was not enough for him that Hip Hop was a part of him he also wanted to be a part of Hip Hop. And thus it started that he tried with self-mixed CD’s as a DJ on birthdays, parties of friends or smaller celebrations. More and more amazed of his own talent he convinced his family as well as his friends. As he reached his creative highest level he noticed that it is not enough for him what he had managed.... His dream to become a DJ get more and more realistic and he bought himself his equipment. Record player, Mixer everything what one needs and every free minute was dedicated for the DJ’ing now. Without any help Vogue taught himself every smallest step and started to perceive with his flat suitcase so many bookings as possible in his hometown Mönchengladbach. Very fast he established a well-known name and was addressed mostly only with Vogue or Dj. This was not very difficult in a city with only 260,000 inhabitants, however, it was a beginning. But typical for Vogue he wanted to reach of course more and knew that Mönchengladbach was not sufficient… But it was also clear for him that those who want to reach something must also risk something... Therefore all savings were put once more on the head and a new, better, more expensive equipment was aquired. He worked day and night long on his Skills to become every day better as the day before. Now by new contacts and friends the orders/ bookings become bigger and bigger and are almost in the whole North Rhine-Westphalia area. DJ Vogue - a respectable DJ in west - North Rhine-Westphalia still does not has enough… With his just 20 years it is for him only the beginning...
