MySpace Editor by purple-guide.comMan I love Dead On. I should say it in the past tense seeing as they've been literally dead for many years but the thing is I STILL love 'em. So much so in fact I made it a personal crusade to try and find the ex members. I managed to find Carl Frazzitta first. The vocalist for the least promoted EP in metal history (ALL FOUR YOU) was affable and courteous and he put me in touch with his brother Tony. Through him I also caught up with Michael Caronia. So that was both original guitarists, and their second vocalist.
Now all I need is Dunk, John and Mike Raptis to complete my sticker album.
Nah, at first it was personal, you know - what happened to these guys? But then I thought, fuck it they need a page to show everyone out there just how good they were. I don't think it matters if you knew of them in the 90s or not, they're still fucking great even today.
I stick that one and only full-length album on and I am instantly transported to a time when cut-off vest tops were all the rage - but it's not about nostalgia. The music still has to cut it and boy does it. I could write a full, thousand of words long review of DEAD ON but I know it might well fall on deaf ears. They were underrated then and they are certainly underrated now. But for those who wish to remember the good times, or just see what they were all about there are some classic tracks up here for you to listen to.
There is also a long interview with Michael Caronia in the blog section and I am looking at putting some more goodies up here soon.
For now, enjoy the best metal band America ever produced - in my opinion, but who the fuck cares what I think...
