I am here for Friends

About Me

I breathe daily large amounts of nitrogen and oxygen as I walk around doing the things that all great apes do, well great apes of the homo sapien variety. The other great apes being orangutangs, gorillas and chimpanzees. Get to know and appreciate your cousins, humans.
I actually am starting to believe that homo sapiens have split/evolved into two different species. One which perceives the dangerous future and wants to avoid it and the other which neither perceives nor cares about the consequences of its collective actions.
I believe that if we can't learn to live in harmony with the other animals on this planet, then we should stop producing more humans.
If you ever visit my home, you'll probably be served a beverage out of a glass jar, usually a used organic peanut butter jar. I try to recycle, reuse, renew.
I stopped driving a car on a regular basis in 1998. I had been in the Air Force (good but bad decision) living in Maryland between D.C. and Baltimore. When I exited the service I decided to try and never be forced to drive to work ever again. Since that time I've walked, skateboarded, biked and bussed to my various jobs.
I'm addicted to coffee. I used to be addicted to cannabis. Well, let me rephrase that. I still support my coffee addiction, but not my cannabis one. Once you're addicted to something you usually remain addicted to it.
Some english descriptors of my personality would be: cynical, naive, epicurean, ailurophile, friendly, obdurate, generous, nervous, hopeful, angry, arrogant. i'm a vegetarian, i vote green, i'm happily married, i like to eat, i think about food alot, i like fats, carbs and proteins. A realistic trinity.
I met my wife while I was in high school, although we didn't go to the same high school. We dated for a couple years, broke up and then reunited years later. We were married in 2003 in a prairie grass park in Champaign, Illinois. She's a wonderful woman and shares many of the same passions as I do. She works long hours as a physician and you'll hear me complain about that.
These are a few of my favorite things: democracynow.org, big sur, playing the no limit hold em, chuck d, the boondocks (in print form), my cats, doughnuts, pizza, beer, wine, kettle chips, organic produce, the swing show saturday mornings on 88.3 KSDS, 106.9 before it was raided and shut down, WEFT 90.1, KBOO 90.7, films with that certain something, books that consume and confuse your mind, organic fabrics including hemp, of course my wife.
Equal rights and Justice!!
