Sounds Like: Accolades for The Dickens:The Dickens is one of those rare bands that can appeal to my pop and rock, light and dark, split personality at the same time. Bruising and soothing, tough and dreamlike, vocals blue and true, chords major and minor, and many more contrasts than I have room to list here. Too heavy to be considered pop rock, this CD delivers beautiful songs that T-Rex could have written, delivered with a heavy Kyussy groove, near perfect verse chorus verse lyrics full of humor and insight, vocals with attitude and style, all wrapped around guitar hooks that dance and jab before delivering a solid knock out punch when you least expect it. I love the way the songs on this CD progress from light to heavy. It rocks harder and tougher with each successive tune. Guitarist and producer Brad Cassetto has taken the rock medium and chisled, cut, and polished plain rock into a gleaming statue of sound, rock hard pop hymns artistically crafted, brilliantly executed, a true masterpiece of what pop music can be when a little salt and pepper is added to the sugary sweet that most often dominates the pop pallette. And, like any new flavor that you've never tasted before, you want to return to it again and again.Accolades for Kung Pao:"Straight in the face, intense, right in the ear"-Daredevil
