Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age. -Anais Nin

About Me

i'm an academic, and i make up my own theme music. i'm still trying to figure the rest out.
You Are Lisa Simpson
A total child prodigy and super genius, you have the mind for world domination.
But you prefer world peace, Buddhism, and tofu dogs.
You will be remembered for: all your academic accomplishments
Your life philosophy: "I refuse to believe that everybody refuses to believe the truth" The Simpsons Personality Test
You Have a Melancholic Temperament
Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything.
You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.
Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace.
You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life.
Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.
At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you.
You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others.
You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult. What Temperment Are You?

My Interests

generally the world. i am a traveler, first and foremost, and in every sense of the word. writing was my first love, and i think that maybe it is my true love. honesty and integrity are more important than anything. see also: anthropology, swing dancing (lindy hop), blues dancing, other social dancing, ok dancing in general, mixed media, photography, music, film, vintage, existentialism, reading, symbolism, researching, epistemology, experimental education, communication, astronomy, the origins of the universe, studying religions, studying things in general, introspection, the environment, water quality and scarcity issues, languages, art, art, art, dictionaries, quotations, evolution, older men, anything 40s, philosophy, psychology, politics and social justice, the jungle, the little things, the renaissance, harlem renaissance, chocolate, things that sparkle, all things nerdy. oh, and i have a serious glasses fetish. and let's not forget touching julie's booty.

Music:

anything i can move my body to. that aside, i'm very eclectic: josh groban, ella and louis, billy joel, stones, outkast, pink floyd, natalie cole, evanesence, beatles, katy rose, the police, ray charles, nina simone, linkin park, frank sinatra, deathcab for cutie, joss stone, norah jones, peter gabriel, enya, DMB, black eyed peas, ani difranco, keane, prince, billie holiday, james blunt, jimi hendrix, jason mraz, vanessa carlton, portishead, marvin gaye, the killers, red hot chili peppers, barbara morrison, led zeppelin, al green, KIM MASSIE, john mayer, michael buble, zz top, tenacious d...jazz (esp new orleans jazz)/swing/big band, blues, soul, motown, classic rock, rock, classical, angry women music, pop, hip hop, 80s, oldies, etc etc etc. i like a lot more than that, but i'm really suck with artists' names/titles. i am not a fan of cheesy R&B, and i am positively allergic to smooth jazz.

Television:

i am in love with dr. gregory house. that said: simpsons, family guy, scrubs, daily show, real time with bill maher, sex and the city, the office, buffy, anything on the discovery, history, or science channels.
