About Me
SECTION 140-143 IN THE NORTH ENDZONE IS WHERE YOU CAN SEE ME!!!! TKO SPIKES5151 (AIM SCREEN NAME) IS WHERE YOU CAN SPEAK TO ME...I want to say hello to all fellow New England Patriot fans, those of you who may not be fans, and fans of other teams (dont know why someone would chose another team though). My name is CAPTAIN NEW ENGLAND. As you can see I am a ginormous (gigantic + enormous = ginormous) Patriots fan!
Ever since I was a tiny fetus growing inside of my mothers belly I have been taught to bleed Red, White and Blue (thanks dad!). Nine months later on December 21st, 1981, a birth of a phenom entered the world, forever becoming a New England Patriots fan.
When I was young I slowly became acustomed to a game that we here in the United States call FOOTBALL! Thanks to my father and grandfather, 2 of the biggest Pats fans I know(n)R.I.P. Grandpa!; I quickly became a New England Patriots fan myself. Granted I was only 4 when the Bears "schilacked" us in Super Bowl XX 45-10 OUCH!, even so that game left a bitter taste in my mouth that I...along with other Pats fans would learn to live with for quite a few years.
Through out the later part of the 80's, Patriot Nation became a team without an identity. There were games where less than half of the fans filled the seats, games where the Pats were dominated, games in which players were "boo'ed", coaches were fired, players were traded, injuries made players sit, interceptions thrown at the worst times, crucial missed field goals by kickers, the sad list can go on and on...but thats not what this is about.
In 1993 the Patriots selected with the #1 pick in the draft, a young stud straight from Washington State, Mr. Drew Bledsoe. This was the turning point for this great franchise. Along side Bledsoe the team began to build with such players as Ben Coates, Curtis Martin, Terry Glenn, Troy Brown, Willie McGinest, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, Teddy Bruschi, Damien Woody, Matt Light, Ben Watson, Robert Edwards, Adam Vinatieri, Deion Branch, the list goes on and on. Now some of these players did not pan out, others were traded (some because they are greedy, hows Seattle Deion?!), however, all...no matter how long their stay in New England, made an impact with the franchise.
During the time these players were making their marks in the hearts of all New England fans, I began to undertand the game of football. It was no longer just 3 hours that I sat in front of a television cheering for my team, it was 3 hours of Heaven, with my favorite team. Even though I had been attending games since I was about 8 years old, unfortunately I did not realize I was a true fan until that bitter loss in 1995, in Super Bowl XXX, to the Green Bay Packers. From that moment on, my status as a Patriots fan would never be the same.
I have been fortunate enough, thanks to my grandfather who has since passed and my father to attend more Patriot games than I can count. I was able to experience games such as the playoff "snow bowl" game against the Raiders, the blizzard game against the Dolphins, Drew Bledsoe's great come back win against the Vikings, the unvealing of the Super Bowl banners, and the best yet, my 1st Super Bowl appearance in Houston, TX against the Panthers. For the chance to experince these games in person I can't thank them enough. I only hope that one day I can give to my son, brother, grandchild, what they have given to me.
Over the years I have always wanted to do something "different" from a fan's standpoint. Ive always worn my Pats jerseys to games, but I wanted something more, I wanted to stand out from the others physically, I wanted to be known as a "crazy", "dedicated", "what is wrong with that guy up in his head", "did he lose a bet?" type of fan. Ive had many ideas over the years, just none that panned out...until now.
The unvealing of my new Pats attire began on 9/8/05, opening night for the NFL, against the Oakland Raiders. Since that time I have attended almost all of the home Pats games wearing the uniform (weather permitting). The high fives, pats on the back, the other fan's comments, the pictures with countless other great fans, and the "Whoooo'ing" with the crowd have all made it worth it.
I want to say thank you to the New England Patriots, Mr. Bob Kraft for keeping "America's REAL Team" in Mass, the players who go out there and give it their all for the team and us fans, the fans for being the best in the league, my family and friends for their support, all the guys I tailgate with week in and week out, and to all of you who have commented, added me as a friend and anyone who cheers on the GREATEST TEAM IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS...THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!...GO PATS!!!TKO SPIKES 5151 AIM SCREEN NAMEI edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
