BIO:
Music is my universe. I breathe, dream, and think it 24/7, since birth. Professionally speaking, I began as an independant contractor performing and recording with various bands around the Southeast. This allowed me to explore many genres and discover my passions (while playing some great shows!). But I always felt something was missing. An avid composer, I decided to release an LP of originals in 2006: "RIPPLE." Pre-production for album #2 is now underway.
I currently perform with 3 groups: Nick Edelstein Band (NEB), Kerry Hill Band (KHB), and The Moody Jews (TMJ). I also write for other artists, compose for TV/film and engineer the Music Junkies podcast produced by Shawn Williams (99X / Q100 FMs). Naturalist, spiritualist, environmentalist, my stylistic influences are vast but I always return to the Blues. I'm all about "creating the moment," so come to my next show and contribute to the vibe! ~NE

"Imagine if Skynyrd were starting up today — post Atlanta Rhythm Section, post Red Hot Chili Peppers. That's the feeling I get with Nick Edelstein. Band leader since 2004, this young Georgia artist has already played the Great Atlanta Blues Festival. I'm sure that songs like "Kentucky Sun" and "Tripping" are great live, under the sun with drink in hand. "Sign From Above" is old-school pop, like Styx or Kansas." *** Southern Fried Magazine (May 2007) ***
"Nick matches immaculate phrasing and speed with soulful, tasteful melodies!" *** Lexi Tabback, The Piedmont Review (Atlanta, GA) ***
"4 stars! Nick gives us a sophisticated take on rock, while at the same time managing to leave a certain rawness still intact thereby giving the whole sound a greater depth of feeling than you generally expect from this approach. The track of the album is "Kentucky Sun", a great piece of mid-tempo guitar rock with just a hint of country and a wonderfully catchy beat. "Tripping" has a bit of a heavier, 'Hendrix-esque' rock feel that will appeal to those of you who like your guitar solos to be searing and effects-laden. On the other hand "Sign From Above" is a slower, almost gentle piece of rock. Part power-ballad and part stadium-rock, "A.J.E." is Nick's attempt at a more extravagant rock sound and he manages to pull it of with a mixture of soaring instrumentation coupled to a plaintive saxophone and piano backing."
*** The BluesBunny (U.K.) ***
"Tasteful Blues Rock is on the menu from Atlantan Nick Edelstein, whose new album 'Ripple' features him tearing through tunes both bluesy and funky; there's a little Stevie Ray in there, some Hendrix and even a twinge of the Red Hot Chili Peppers from the rhythm section of Scott Brown on bass and Monte Coursey on drums."
*** Flagpole (Athens, GA) ***
"Pretty-boy presence ... coy-ish appeal ... a breath of fresh, understated sensuality. Nick obviously likes Rock, which adds a funky edge to his Blues expression ... I got a taste of Santana and even a little Van Halen. He's sneaky with it. Ladies, you'll have a hard time deciding whether to bake him some cookies or mess up his hair!"
