Those musicians that have the pleasure of gracing my friends list:
So I decided to do that whole list thing of artists I've come across and those who have tried to add me and succeded because I like their sound, and toss up those groovy sounds that grace my friends list, why? Why not, I enjoy their music and you might too. I in advance apologize to the artists if I seemingly express the wrong kind of sound they are trying to produce, but hey, it's what I feel from your music, when I hear it. Music is to be felt, not listened to.
Some of it is purely styles I enjoy, and some of it is music that affects me and my emotions personally. And I hope, you recieve feeling and emotion from something you've heard from this list.
Experimental/Theatric/Alternative/etc.
Dresden Dolls - - An alternative almost jazzy sound. Sensational performers! I saw them when they were here in Adelaide, and not to mention well worthy music when you put both artist and music together, these guys are the epitome of sexy.
The Red Paintings - They are Aussie based! Heard them live with Dresden Dolls when they were here, unique ochestra sound with an alternative feel.
Rock/pop/and all that funked stuff.
Jimmy Cypher - Not Aussie! But I love em anyway. These guys take alternative music and turn it into an almost sexy electronically pop, club-like sound.
Cohagen Quaid - More Aussie music!
C.O.K.E - Take that 70s style rock and turn it into this generation and you have C.O.K.E. Oh and woot for Adelaide music!
Monork to Die - Rock for this day in age with an indie feel. Accustics and easy going lyrics, great to listen to with a beer after a long day.
Heavy/Metal/Hard Alternative/etc.
As Silence Breaks - Aussie based, these guys take that raw metal sound and twist it with melodic breakdowns.
Sabaton - My favorite kind of metal music (what more could you expect from Sweden! /swoon!) these guys give us that deep power metal sound with kickass lyrics to boost.
Chemical Vocation - These guys are awesome, can't help but bop, tap, move or whatever it is you do to mucic. They take a dash of metal feel, mixing it into that punk sound.
Electronica/progressive/down-tempo/trip-hop/etc
Sidewaytown - Upon entering their site they call themselves "Music to the film in your head" And all the way from Germany, they do just that. Germany is a long way away! Well worth the distance imo.
JAÂ¥ Electronica - Mate I love this guy. He takes those smooth hip-hop sounding lyrics producing with it an electronic, soulful, refreshing, deep feel. Definately worth every moment.
Callaway/Raynor - I adore these guys, they're awesome people who produce that whole psychedelic electronic almost soulful sound. Very origional! Well worth the time. Also Aussie!
Emancipator - I'm not to sure how to describe these guys, just listen to them! They're sensational, they compose a down-tempo trip-hop folk like sound. The kind of music you'd listen to sitting with some mates relaxing and having a coctail. Muy relaxingly funky!
Indie/Acustic/etc.
Steve Thompson - Steve is from Australia, I was unsure on where to put him, though considering his newer stuff, I figured here would be good. I absolutely LOVE acustic guitar, and he's music is fucking awesome. Nuff said.
Rhy McMillan - All the way from Canada he won my heart with his sound and lyrics. Not to mention his unique multi-instrumental-talent. Take the didgeridoo and guitar for example, I mean.. What's NOT to like?
Selena Cross - She's georgous with a voice to match, producing a relaxing, naturally flowing sound of instrumental music. Not sure how to describe it, just check it!
Jamison A. Johnson - If he were Aussie, I'd go see his show. That whole singer - songwriter appeal, with those lyrics that seem to express what we all at times can feel with love and emotions.
Bernee - These guys title themselves "Piano Smashing Geek Rock" giving the groovy sounds of percussion and piano. Their influences include Ben Folds, and imo toss in a modern Beatles sound, and you have the trio.
Paladeus / Jon Menard - More of that well awesome acustic sound. Though this bloke is all for the World of Warcraft massive!
Svavar Knutur - All the way from Iceland this guy gives the whole acoustic sound with deep, relaxing lyrics to match.
Hard Dance/Club/Hard Trance/etc.
Kevin Energy - For the non-lighthearted massive. This guy was a god to me back in my youthful raving days. If you like full energetic, hard dance music, this is your man.
In the process of being updated! Don't worry, I've not forgotten about you. =)
If I could meet anyone it would be the person who introduced or breeded (is that a word? Who cares, it is now) flies into Australia so I can poke them in the eye...Severely.
