Sianed Jones has a voice that sounds like a Wailing Banshee calling from the mountains a Soft Seducer whispering in your ear a Passionate revolutionary a voice that is Raw Vital and deeply soulful “exceptional and versatile voice” The Scotsman Edinburgh Festival “... a roaring near falsetto, a cavernous chest register a terrifying wail” The Sunday Observer “ a stream of global echoes draped around slinky beats, helping carry the political and ethical weight of words.....” The Wire “Surrender allows numerous musics to cross-fertilise while words and wordless vocalising transmit sensitivity and intelligence.” The Wire. With an upbringing drenched in Welsh choral singing Sianed left Wales and travelled the world researching vocal techniques. From Egypt to Madagascar from East Africa to Kyrgistan from Kazakstan to Mongolia. Sianed has just returned to Wales to her roots the mountains calling her home. She sings in Welsh and English about love / peace / sex / war / futuristic cyberpunk fantasies / the state of the planet / woman politics / Funked up World music. Her songs weave an intoxicating mix of influences. Contemporary Songs of Sadness Madness and Gladness.
