About Me

I began writing my own material in 1987 as a 15 year old. At 21 I played my first ever live show in a trio. In 1994 I met current songwriting partner and drummer Pete Young. We gelled in a fantastic way. By 1996 I began to make strides as a songwriter, as Liquid 3 self released its first album. In 1998 I joined Denton band Chomsky. Between 1998 and 2002 Chomsky released 2 albums that drew much critical acclaim in Texas, A Few Possible Selections and Onward Quirky Soldiers. In 2005 I began recording In Between Days w/ engineer Jimi Bowman and my songwriting partner Pete. We recorded 9 songs , then in a 2nd burst of creativity recorded 4 more songs in September. In 2006 we spent spare time fleshing out the songs and cutting the record down to 11 songs. The finished product is very different from what many expected! I hope the listener enjoys spotting the things in my writing style that might have helped shape some of the Chomsky work we did. Clay Pendergrass played an integral part in the recording process with his unique bass work. Jimi Bowman's studio provided the perfect setup for us and his love of retro instruments helped me realise the sounds that gave this record its unique atmosphere. Jimi had mellotron and tons of 70's and 60's keyboards at his disposal and we certainly took advantage!

Influences: On October 3, 1849, Edgar Allen Poe was found on the streets of Baltimore delirious and "in great distress, and... in need of immediate assistance," according to the friend who found him, Dr. E. Snodgrass. He was taken to the Washington College Hospital,[4] where he died early on the morning of October 7. Poe was never coherent long enough to explain how he came to be in his dire condition, and, oddly, was wearing clothes that were not his own. Poe is said to have repeatedly called out the name "Reynolds" on the night before his death, though no one has ever been able to identify the person to whom he referred.
